The Line: WKU Hilltoppers -7.5 -- Over/Under:
The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers square off with the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs in college football for the second time.
The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs were red hot with seven consecutive victories before a 39-24 loss at Southern Mississippi in the final game of the regular season. The Golden Eagles held a 426-254 edge in yardage while the Bulldogs scored on a fumble return but also totaled three turnovers. La Tech quarterback Ryan Higgins
was the offense as he connected on 22-39 for 246 yards but also three costly interceptions. The Louisiana Tech rushing attack averaged less then a yard per carry so the offense didn’t move the chains as they usually did during the season.
Ever since the loss to Louisiana Tech, the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers have been scoring in bunches with the defense holding up their side of the bargain on the way to six straight wins. The Hilltoppers closed the regular season with an easy 60-6 rout of over rated Marshall in week 13. WKY totaled 462 yards and limited the Thundering Herd to 230 yards and a pair of interceptions. Hilltoppers quarterback Mike White hit 16-27 for 233 yards and three touchdowns with Nicholas Norris catching three balls for 790 yards and a score. The Western Kentucky rushing attack saw Anthony Wales and Quinton Baker combine for 214 yards and three TD’s on 23 touches.
Louisiana Tech are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games after accumulating less than 275 total yards in their previous game and the over is 5-0 in Louisiana Tech last 5 games following a ATS loss while the over is 6-0 in Louisiana Tech last 6 games on fieldturf. The over is 4-0 in Western Kentucky last 4 games after allowing less than 170 yards passing in their previous game and Western Kentucky are 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 games after accumulating more than 450 total yards in their previous game while the over is 6-1 in Western Kentucky last 7 games after allowing less than 275 total yards in their previous game.
I’m backing Western Kentucky right now who have been outstanding on both sides of the ball…
