The UNLV Rebels pay a visit to War Memorial Stadium to oppose the Wyoming Cowboys.
At 3-8 the UNLV rebels won’t be going to a Bowl but they might be a team to keep an eye on down the road because they have definitely improved. It probably didn’t look like it in a 52-14 loss to San Diego State where they trailed 31-0 after two quarters. The Aztecs only had 393 yards but UNL had only 270 yards and helped the Aztecs out with four turnovers. Quarterback Kyle Palendech was a mix of good and bad with 190 passing yards with a pair of touchdowns and two picks on 18-35 with Kendal Keys leading the Rebels with eight receptions for 76 yards and a TD. UNLV had no rushing attack to speak of with Lexington Thomas running three times for 42 yards being the top producer.
While many expected Craig Bohl to work some magic for the Wyoming Cowboys the 1-10 record says he will need more time and I think he can do it. The Cowboys entered their bye week with a 38-3 loss to San Diego State for defeat number four in a row. The Aztecs mustered 431 yards with a pair of lost fumbles while the Pokes totaled 191 yards and gave the ball away three times. Quarterback Cameron Coffman struggled with accuracy and mistakes as he completed 9-21 for 129 yards and two interceptions although WR Jake Maulhardt was a bright spot for the Cowboys with five catches for 107 yards. Brian hill paced Wyoming on the ground with 70 yards but he needed 20 carries.
The over is 5-0 in Rebels last 5 games after allowing more than 40 points in their previous game and is 4-0 in Rebels last 4 games after allowing more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game while going 4-0 in Rebels last 4 games after allowing less than 170 yards passing in their previous game. The Cowboys are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following a bye week and are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games after accumulating less than 275 total yards in their previous game while going 0-6 ATS in their last 6 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. The over is 5-0-1 in the last 6 meetings in Wyoming and is 9-2-1 in the last 12 meetings while the home team is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings. No line out and if Blake Decker isn’t under center for UNLV I wouldn’t touch this…
