The Chennai Super Kings will travel to Delhi to play against the Delhi Capitals. Both CSK and DC won their opening fixtures.
Chennai Super Kings had a big win in their previous match as they beat the Royal Challengers Bangalore by 7 wickets. The win was set up for CSK by their bowlers as they bowled out RCB for only 70 runs in 17.1 overs. Harbhajan Singh and Imran Tahir were the big performers for CSK as both bowlers took 3 wickets each. Harbhajan was particularly impressive as he took the wickets of Moeen Ali, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. It was a simple task for the batters considering CSK only need 71 runs to win. This is expected to be a tougher match for CSK since the conditions will not favour the spinners like what was seen in Chennai for the opening match.
On the other side of the coin, the Delhi Capitals were also very impressive in their opening game as they beat the Mumbai Indians by 37 runs. Rishabh Pant was the big performer for DC as he scored 78 runs in only 27 balls to help the team post a massive total of 213 for 6. The bowling for DC was a team effort as all 6 bowlers used contributed with wickets. Ishant Sharma and Rabada led the attack by taking 2 wickets each.
The pitch for this ground is expected to favour the batters. The ground at Delhi is also relatively small so both DC and CSK will expect to hit many boundaries.
As far as picking a winner for this match, I am going to side with the Delhi Capitals. Delhi have a stronger batting unit and with the pitch not expected to help spin, I see CSK being at a big disadvantage. The Delhi Capitals look a well-balanced side this season and I see them starting the season 2-0.
