The Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Delhi Capitals will play each other in the eliminator in the 2019 IPL. The winner will make it into the next stage of the tournament while the losing team will be eliminated.
With David Warner and Jonny Bairstow gone, SH look very weak while batting. Manish Pandey has stepped up but the team has consistently failed to score big runs. SH were lucky to qualify for the finals after they lost their previous two matches to the Mumbai Indians and the Royal Challengers Bangalore. To make matters worse for the Sunrisers, Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi have both left the squad to represent Afghanistan in international cricket. As it currently stands, Sunrisers have lost the majority of their first-choice side and that is going to make life very difficult against a strong Delhi side.
On the other side of the coin, Delhi look to have most of their top players still available. Kagiso Rabada is the only DC player who has left the side as the South African pacer is injured. Kemo Paul is likely to replace Rabada and the West Indian has been impressive in this IPL. The batting should be at full strength for the Delhi Capitals as the likes of Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Colin Ingram and Prithvi Shaw are all available. The Delhi Capitals had an emphatic win in their previous match as they only conceded 119 runs in 20 overs against the Rajasthan Royals. DC scored the runs in 16.1 overs.
Taking everything into consideration, I am going to pick the Delhi Capitals to win this match. DC are the stronger side and it seems unlikely SH will turn their form around considering they have lost the majority of their key players. The Delhi Capitals are almost at full strength and I see them beating SH and making it into the next round.
