England and Pakistan are set to play the 3rd ODI of their 5-match series at the Brightside Ground in Bristol.

England started the series well as they won the previous ODI in Southampton. Jos Buttler was outstanding for England as the batsman scored an unbeaten 110 runs off only 55 balls. Eoin Morgan was also in great form as the captain scored an unbeaten 71 off 48 balls. England’s batting was outstanding as they posted 373 runs in their 50 overs. The bowling was not good from England as they almost allowed Pakistan to chase down their massive total. Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid were both very poor as the spinners conceded 147 runs in 20 overs. England must improve their bowling since the batting may not always bail the team out.

On the other side of the coin, Pakistan also bowled very poorly. The likes of Yasir Shah, Hasan Ali and Sheen Afridi were very poor as they all had economy rates of over 8. The team only took 3 wickets and they conceded too many runs at the end of the England innings. On a positive note, Pakistan batted extremely well. Fakhar Zaman was outstanding for Pakistan as the opener scored 138 runs to give the team a chance. Pakistan only lost by 12 runs which was a good effort by the batsman considering the total they were chasing.

The pitch for this match should be exceptional for batting. England and India played a T20 match at this venue last season which saw around 400 runs being scored in less than 39 overs.

Looking at this fixture, I am going to pick England to win again. Pakistan look like a bowling unit that have no answers to the likes of Buttler, Morgan and Roy. I am expecting England to score a big total that will be too much for the Pakistan batsman.
