India will host Australia for the 2nd T20I at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Australia won in the opening game meaning that India must win to tie the series.
India had a very poor batting display in the opening match as the team only managed 126 runs in their 20 overs. KL Rahul batted well for India but the rest of the team failed which meant it was going to be tough for the team to salvage a result. Shikhar Dhawan should return for this match and that inclusion will significantly improve the batting for India. As far as the bowling was concerned, it was a very strong display as Jasprit Bumrah’s heroics almost got India over the line. Umesh Yadav had a very poor outing and he is likely to be dropped for this game.
Australia, on the other hand, had a perfect start to their tour. The Australian bowling was very impressive and it was led by Nathan Coulter-Nile who took 3 key wickets. As far as the batting was concerned, it was not the best performance as they almost failed to chase a very low total. Glenn Maxwell batted well for Australia as the all-rounder scored a very impressive half-century.
The pitch at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium is expected to produce a high scoring game. This ground is known for its high scores in the IPL.
This should be an interesting game as we find the stronger side behind in the series. With that in mind, I am going to pick India to win this game. India have a much stronger team and it is very unlikely that the star-filled batting order will fail twice in a row. Australia batted very poorly in the opening game and if India can score more than 150, they should win.
