India -250 / Pakistan +200
Old Trafford in Manchester will host India and Pakistan as they meet for a game in the 2019 ICC World Cup. This is perhaps the biggest match in the tournament considering the rivalry between India and Pakistan.
Pakistan last played against Australia in a match which they lost by 41 runs. It was a disappointing start to the match by Pakistan as they were unprofessional in the first 25 overs as they dropped catches and conceded runs due to poor fielding. This allowed Australia to score 50 runs more than par which ended up being the determining factor. The bowling was good by Pakistan and Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz led the team extremely well. Amir was outstanding as he took 5 wickets at an economy rate of only 3. Pakistan’s batting showed promise and it seemed at times they would chase down the total. That being said, Pakistan managed to lose wickets in clusters which cost them the match. While the team failed to chase down the total, Imam-ul-Haq (53), Mohammed Hafeez (46) and Wahab Riaz (45) all batted very well. Unfortunately for Pakistan, they have only 3 points from 4 games. This is a must win game for Pakistan but it will be very tough since their opponents have been in outstanding form.
On the other side of the field, India had their previous match abandoned after rained prevented play. As it currently stands, India have 5 points after 3 matches and remain unbeaten. This team is firing on all cylinders as they are both batting and bowling well. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Hardick Pandya were all terrific for India in the win against Australia and that trio will expect to play another significant role with the bat in this match. India have lost Shikhar Dhawan for this match which is a big blow for the team as the opener is in great form having scored a century against Australia. That being said, India have plenty of depth with KL Rahul likely to open and Vijay Shankar to bat at number 4. The bowling is also India's strength as they have an extraordinary pool of bowlers. Jasprit Bumrah will lead the bowlers since the paceman has been in top form having already taken 5 wickets. Yuzvendra Chahal has taken 6 wickets for India and the leg spinner will be very dangerous through the middle overs. This India side is looking very confident which will make them incredibly tough to beat.
India vs Pakistan matches always involve great passion and drama. Both teams are filled with superstars and have some of the most passionate fans in the world. The last time India and Pakistan played in the World Cup, over 1 billion viewers watched the game. This match is a big event and India and Pakistan will understand the expectation of winning for their country.
It is never wise to count out Pakistan as they have the ability to bounce back and beat any team in the world. That being said, I am picking India to win this match. This Indian side have all their bases covered and they have been outstanding throughout this tournament. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and MS Dhoni all have tons of experience and I see them having enough talent to score a big total. The bowling is also outstanding for India as Bumrah and Chahal are only 2 superstars in the team. India are considered by many as favorites to win this tournament and I see them being too strong for Pakistan in this match.
