India and South Africa are set to play each other in 3-match T20 series. The first match for the series is set to take place at the HPCA Stadium.

This will be the first time that South Africa will be playing since the World Cup. It was a disappointing World Cup campaign for the Proteas as they only won 3 games and finished in 7th spot below teams like Sri Lanka and Pakistan. The batting was especially poor from South Africa with key batsmen looking in poor touch. A different squad has been sent for this series with Quinton de Kock as captain. The key batsmen for South Africa will be David Miller, Reeza Hendrick and Quinton de Kock. The bowling is looking strong with the like Rabada and Nortje in the squad. This is expected to be a tough series for the Proteas as they are playing against an exceptional team away from home.

India head into this series following an outstanding tour of the West Indies where the team didn’t lose a single match. Players like Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer has strong tours and the team is looking confident as they look forward to this match. The bowling has been changed for this series with players like Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah being rested. That being said, India have plenty of bowling depth with replacement bowlers looking sharp. Ravindra Jadeja and Krunal Pandya will be essential for India as they give the team great balance. India look very impressive and the team will be confident in their ability to maintain their winning ways.

This match is expected to produce big scores as the boundaries are relatively small and the pitch should be flat.

Taking everything into consideration, I am going to pick India to win this match. India are a significantly stronger team and they have the advantage of playing at home. South Africa have struggled over the past few months and I see them getting beaten in this match.
