The Line: -- Over/Under:
The second ODI between India and the West Indies is set to take place at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium. As it currently stands, the West Indies are leading the series 1-0.
The West Indies were outstanding during the opening ODI. The bowling was solid as they took vital wickets early and limited scoring to only allow India to score 287 in their 50 overs. Kemo Paul, Sheldon Cottrell, and Alzarri Joseph were the star bowlers for the West Indies with all 3 contributing with 2 wickets each. The batting from the West Indies was outing with Shai Hope and Shimron Hetmyer showing their class. Both Hope and Hetmyer scored centuries which allowed the West Indies to score the runs with 13 balls remaining. The West Indies will be hoping for a similar performance in this match.
Looking at India, it was a poor performance by the host nation with big players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli failing with the bat. Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer played well but it wasn’t enough since India scored less than 300 runs. The bowling was poor from India with the team only taking 2 wickets in the entire match. The likes of Mohammad Shami and Shivam Dube were very expensive and it allowed the West Indies to easily win the match. Despite the result, India will still be confident in their ability to bounce back strongly since it is a very strong team.
The ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium is a ground which usually allows big scores to be made. Both India and the West Indies will be looking to score big runs in this match.
Despite the result from the previous outing, I am going to pick India to win this match. India are a very strong side and I see them having enough quality to bounce back strongly. This should be a close match but I see India having enough to secure the victory.
