India and West Indies will play the final ODI of their 3-match series at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. As it currently stands, the series is tied 1-1.

India comprehensive won the previous ODI match by 107 runs. The match was largely set up by the impressive batting from the Indian batsmen. KL Rahul (102) and Rohit Sharma (159) both batted exceptionally well to ensure India would post a huge total. Shreyas Iyer (53) and Rishabh Pant (39) were outstanding at the end of the innings to get India to a total of 387 in their 50 overs. The bowling from the West Indies was poor as they allowed India to score at an extremely rapid rate. India had scored 227 runs when they lost their first wicket. The West Indies must improve their bowling and fielding if they wish to compete in this match.

Looking at the West Indies batting, it was a good display by the batsmen. The likes of Nicolas Pooran and Shai Hope batted well but the Indian total was too much. India bowled with more discipline when compared to the West Indies. Mohammad Shami and Kuldeep Yadav both took 3 wickets each. Jadeja contributed with 2 wickets.

The Barabati Stadium has hosted some high scoring fixtures in recent history. The last ODI played at this venue was 2017 when close to 750 runs were scored. The boundaries are short and the pitch is flat so both teams will look to score big runs.

Taking everything into consideration, I am going to pick India to win this match. The West Indies were extremely poor during the second ODI and I see India having all the momentum leading into this game. The Indian batting is very strong and I see it having too much strength for the West Indies. I am expecting a closer match but India should be good enough to take the series 2-1.
