The 2nd T20 International between India and the West Indies is set to take place on Sunday at the Greenfield Stadium. As it currently stands, India leads the series 1-0 having won the opening fixture at Hyderabad.
While the West Indies lost the opening match, the team will feel that they batted well having posted a first-innings total of 207. Shimron Hetmyer (56) was the top batsman for the West Indies and he was well supported by the likes of Evin Lewis (40) and Keiron Pollard (37). Unfortunately for the West Indies, the bowling was poor and the team allowed India to get away with the match. Sheldon Cottrell bowled well but the rest of the bowling was poor. The West Indies must improve their bowling if they wish to compete in this series.
India were also very poor with the ball but the host team was bailed out by some supreme batting. Virat Kohli was the top player for India as the captain scored an unbeaten 94. KL Rahul also batted well with a score of 62. The Indian bowling was not good as the bowlers lacked control and gave away too many runs. The bowling was too short from India which allowed the West Indies to hit boundaries with ease. India managed to win the opening match but the team will be desperate to improve since the bowling was poor.
Limited international cricket has been played on the Greenfield Stadium but considering the format of the match, the pitch should allow big scores to scored.
The West Indies are a very exciting side but I see them losing this match. India have the momentum having won the opening fixture and I see the Indian bowling improving in this match. India are the stronger side and I see them being good enough to win at home.
