West Indies vs. India

India -300 / West Indies +240
India will take on the West Indies in the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup. The match between these two teams is set to take place at Old Trafford in Manchester.
India remain unbeaten and currently have 9 points from their 5 games.
In their previous outing, India defeated Afghanistan. India received a scare as they were almost victims to a major upset but the team showed their quality with the ball to get the victory. Mohammad Shami was outstanding with the ball as he took a final over hattrick to get the team over the line. Jasprit Bumrah was also very impressive as he took 2 wickets in the middle overs to shift the balance in India’s favor.
The batting was poor from India as they batted in a very leisurely manner and that resulted in a sub-par total. MS Dhoni and Vijay Shankar were particularly poor as they failed to rotate strike which built pressure on the other players. Virat Kohli and Kedar Jadhav both scored half-centuries and were the only Indian batsmen to play well.
India had a poor day with the bat against Afghanistan but the team will not be overly worried since the likes of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and MS Dhoni are all quality batsmen and have performed well for India in recent times.
On the other side of the coin, West Indies suffered another defeat as they lost to New Zealand in their last match. That loss means that West Indies have only 3 points from their 6 games and it seems unlikely they will qualify for the next stage.
West Indies had a good game against New Zealand and were unlucky to lose. Carlos Brathwaite played an outstanding inning which almost carried the team to an unlikely victory. Brathwaite hit 101 of 82 balls but it wasn’t enough to get the team over the line.
The West Indies have been close to winning most of their games but they have failed to capitalize on the big moments.
Old Trafford has hosted a few games in this tournament and the ground has been very good for batting. India posted excess of 300 at Old Trafford in their match against Pakistan.
The West Indies have played well throughout this tournament but they have not had enough to win the important games. India, on the other hand, have been outstanding and are the team to beat. India have a much better balance than the West Indies. With that in mind, I see India being too good for the West Indies in this contest.
