New Zealand will host India at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui for the 2nd ODI match.

India had a comfortable win in the opening game as the visitors won by 8 wickets. It was an impressive performance by the Indian bowlers who restricted New Zealand to a total of only 157. India’s two wrist spinners, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal were exceptionally good as they combined for figures of 6 wickets for 82 runs. It seemed like the New Zealanders were not able to read Yadav and Chahal meaning they are likely the be dangerous in this match also. As far as the batting was concerned, it was an easy task for India. Shikhar Dhawan top scored for India with an unbeaten 75. India are firing on all cylinders and will be very hard to beat.

New Zealand need to find a way to get back into this series. India won the opening game comfortably and things are looking very bleak for New Zealand. In the first ODI, New Zealand batted poorly and the bowlers looked very weak. All areas of New Zealand’s game will have to improve considering they played very poorly in the last game. It will be important for the likes of Ross Taylor, Trent Boult and Tim Southee to lead the team as they are the most accomplished and experienced players.

The conditions at Bay Oval should be good for batting. The last ODI played at this ground was only weeks ago between New Zealand and Sri Lanka where over 600 runs were scored.

All in all, I am going to pick India to win this game. India look very high on confidence and the team is playing exceptional cricket. New Zealand just suffered a big loss and I see them going 2-0 down in this series.
