New Zealand and India are set to play the 4th ODI at Hamilton. India have a 3-0 lead in the series so New Zealand will want to resume some pride in this match.
India had a convincing win in the previous match as they won by 7 wickets with plenty of balls to spare. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were both exceptional for India as they combined exceptionally by scoring over 120 runs in combination. In addition to that, Dinesh Karthik and Ambati Rayudu both batted well which would have pleased the Indian management as the middle order has been a consistent problem for the team. As far as the bowling was concerned, Kuldeep Yadav impressed with his economy as he conceded less than 40 runs in his 10 over spell.
On the other side of the coin, New Zealand improved their batting from the previous games as Tom Latham and Ross Taylor combined to ensure the team posted a competitive total. That being said, the openers and lower order both collapsed dramatically which resulted in the team crumbling to a below-par total. Looking at the New Zealand bowling, Trent Boult bowled well for the hosts as he was economical while picking up the wicket of Virat Kohli. Other than Boult, the New Zealand bowling was poor and that made it too easy for the Indian batters.
Virat Kohli has been rested for the remainder of the series which should weaken the Indian batting. That being said, there seems to be exceptional bench strength in India with the likes of Shubman Gill and MS Dhoni waiting to return to the side.
India has been far stronger than New Zealand and I see this series continuing in a similar manner. India are the stronger side and I see them winning this match also.
