Pakistan will host Australia in the 3rd ODI of the 5-match series taking place in the UAE. Australia lead the series 2-0 so Pakistan must win to keep the contest alive.
Aaron Finch’s return to form has been massive for Australia as the captain scored a mammoth 153 runs off 143 balls. Usman Khawaja also showed good form as the opening batsman scored 88 runs. The Australian bowling was led by Jhye Richardson who took 2 wickets for 16 runs. Nathan Coulter-Nile also contributed with 2 wickets for Australia. The Australian team is looking very confident at the moment and they will be hopeful that they can win the series promptly.
On the other side of the coin, Pakistan have struggled with the ball. The pitches have been very flat in this series but the bowling attack lacks any venom without Shadab Khan who has been rested for this series. The Pakistan bowling attack only took 2 wickets in the previous match and that will be a big cause for concern. The batting has been decent for Pakistan as they scored 284 in the previous match. Mohammad Rizwan showed his ability with the bat as he scored 114 runs to top score for the Pakistan team.
The teams will be playing this match at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. This pitch should offer the bowlers more assistance than the pitch that was used in Sharjah for the opening 2 games.
I am going to pick an upset for this match and predict a Pakistan win. Australia have looked terrific but the Australian batting has been very poor when the pitch is not flat which could be the case for this outing. Pakistan have a more technical batting line-up and I see that making a difference in this match. I see Pakistan winning their first match of the series.
