Pakistan are set to host Sri Lanka for a 3-match ODI series. This is a big event as it will be first full series played in Pakistan for many years.

Pakistan last played at the ICC World Cup where the team had a modest competition. Pakistan finished 5th with 11 points which was a decent result. During the tournament, Pakistan defeated the likes of England, New Zealand and South Africa which will be pleasing for the team. Mohammad Amir was the star bowler for Pakistan and the seamer is expected to lead the team in this match. Babar Azam and Imam ul-Haq will be the two main batsmen for Pakistan. Pakistan have a well-balanced team and they will be desperate to win for their home crowd.

On the other side of the coin, Sri Lanka are playing a significantly weakened side with many key players like Angelo Matthews, Thisara Perera, and Kusal Mendis not playing due to security reasons. Lahiru Thirimanne will captain the Sri Lankan side and his experience will be vital as the majority of the squad are inexperienced. Isuru Udana and Nuwan Pradeep with be the main bowling options for Sri Lanka. This will be a tough series for Sri Lanka to win considering they are missing most of their top players. That being said, the new Sri Lankan players should be very determined as it is a chance for them to earn a place in the regular team.

This match is set to be played at the National Stadium in Karachi. The pitch is expected to assist the spin bowlers.

Taking all the information into consideration, I am going to pick Pakistan to win this match. Sri Lanka look very weak with so many players missing. Pakistan are the stronger side and they should be too good, especially at home.
