Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will play their 3rd and final ODI on Wednesday at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Sri Lanka lead the series 2-0.

Sri Lanka were outstanding in the previous match as they won with the aid of some terrific bowling. Isuru Udana, Nuwan Pradeep, and Akila Dananjaya were terrific as the three bowlers combined to take 6 wickets. Akila Dananjaya was especially impressive as he took the wickets while maintaining an economy rate of fewer than 4 runs per over. Sri Lanka restricted Bangladesh to a total of 238 which made it simple for the batsmen.

The Sri Lankan batting was led by Avishka Fernando who scored 82 runs of 75 balls. Angelo Matthew also batted well as he scored an unbeaten half-century. Sri Lanka look in very good form and will fancy their chances of winning this series 3-0.

Looking at Bangladesh, the batting failed once again. Mushfiqur Rahim was the only batsman to contribute as the scored an unbeaten 98. The likes of Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarkar, and Mohammad Mithun all failed and that resulted in the Bangladeshi batting to struggle. The bowling was also poor but Bangladesh never had enough runs to allow the bowlers to compete. If Bangladesh are to win this match, Mushfiqur Rahim will need some support from the other batsmen. Tamim Iqbal is a key player for Bangladesh as he is the captain and his lack of form in impacting the team greatly.

This is the third successive match being played at the R. Premadasa Stadium. The conditions during the 2nd ODI suggests that the spinners should be aided in this game. Both Bangladesh and Sri Lanka possess quality spinners.

Taking all the information into consideration, I am going to pick Sri Lanka to win this match. Bangladesh look very poor when batting and I see no reason for a turn in the form. Sri Lanka have all the momentum and I see them having too much batting strength to allow Bangladesh to compete in this match.

Pick:
Sri Lanka
