Sri Lanka will play against New Zealand in their final T20I match of the series. New Zealand have won the series 2-0 so this match will be played with the pure purpose of ranking points and pride.

Sri Lanka have played well in the last 2 games but the team has lost it due to poor bowling. Lasith Malinga was poor in the last outing as he had an economy rate of close to 10 runs per over. Akila Dananjaya was the top bowler for Sri Lanka as he took 3 wickets. The Sri Lankan batting lacked consistency as they lost wickets throughout the match. Niroshan Dickwella top-scored with 39 runs. It was another close loss for Sri Lanka and the team will be hoping that they are good enough to get a win in the series.

New Zealand were solid in the win as they won the match with the bat. Colin de Grandhomme was outstanding for the Kiwis as the scored 59 runs off 43 balls. Tom Bruce also batted well with a score of 53. New Zealand struggled against spin and while they did enough to win, they will be hoping for an improvement in that area. This may be a tough match for New Zealand as Martin Guptil and Ross Taylor are both likely to miss this match. The bowling was poor for New Zealand although Tim Southee bowled an outstanding spell to restrict scoring at a vital time. The likes of Scott Kuggeleijn and Seth Rance were very expensive in the middle overs. New Zealand must improve their bowling in this match since injuries have weakened their batting significantly.

New Zealand have won both matches in this series but I see Sri Lanka getting a win in this match. The Kiwis are struggling with injuries which makes it tough considering their bowling has been strong. The fans will be behind Sri Lanka and they should be good enough to give the crowd a win.
