Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium
Sunrisers Hyderabad -138 / Kings XI Punjab +110
The Sunrisers Hyderabad will host the Kings XI Punjab for a match in the Indian Premier League. This is a massive match for both SH and KXIP as the winner will be close to making the finals and the loser will be near elimination.
Sunrisers Hyderabad lost their previous match as they were beaten by the Rajasthan Royals. It has been a tough few weeks for SH and things are only expected to get tougher as David Warner has left the team to be with the Australian squad and it means that Martin Guptill will replace the opener. Warner and Bairstow have been the only players for SH who have been scoring runs and with both leaving the team, things are looking dire. The bowling has been decent for Sunrisers Hyderabad with Rashid Khan looking in good form. That being said, SH are very poor at scoring runs and that is likely to cost them.
On the other side of the coin, Kings XI Punjab are also desperate to win after the team lost its last 2 games. In their last outing, KXIP were beaten by RCB. On a positive note for KXIP, all the international players will remain with the squad as the likes of Gayle, Curran and Pooran are not required by their national sides. Kings XI Punjab have a good balance with the likes of Ashwin, Shami and Curran providing different bowling options. KL Rahul and Chris Gayle have been batting well for KXIP and the team will hope that they can convert their form into wins.
As far as this match is concerned, I am going to KXIP to win. Sunrisers look very weak without Warner and Bairstow and I don’t see how the team score enough runs to compete. KXIP have a better balance and I see them being too strong for SH.
