West Indies and England are set to play their 3rd ODI on Monday at the National Cricket Stadium in St George’s, Grenada. As it currently stands, England and West Indies are tied 1-1 in the series so both teams will have everything to play for.
West Indies had a big win in the last ODI as they beat England by bowling the visitors out for less than 270. Shimron Hetmyer was exceptional for the West Indies as the batsman scored 104 runs in only 83 balls. Chris Gayle continued his supreme form as the opener scored 50 to back up his century from the opening match. As far as the bowling was concerned, Sheldon Cottrell led the West Indies attack as he took 5 wickets including the dismissals of Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy. Jason Holder was also very impressive as he took 3 wickets for 53 runs. West Indies are full of confidence after their win in the Test series which will make them very hard to beat.
England, on the other hand, had a very poor day with the bat as they lost their last 6 wickets for only 35 runs. Ben Stokes and Eoin Morgan batted well for England but the team didn’t have enough composure to finish the task. This has been a difficult tour for England and the results have been far below expected. England will need to bat with more composure if they wish to win this match.
The pitch at the National Cricket Stadium should be a good deck for batting so this match is expected to be high scoring.
With all the information taken into consideration, I am going to pick the West Indies to win this match. The West Indies were very impressive in the last game while England seem to be out of form. With that in mind, I see West Indies winning at home.
