West Indies and England will play the final ODI match of their 5-match series at the Darren Sammy National Stadium in St Lucia. As it currently stands, England lead the series 2-1 which means that the West Indies must win to ensure the series ends in a tie.
England had a very strong batting display in the previous game as the team managed to post a total of over 400. Jos Buttler was the star performer for England as the batsman scored 150 runs in 77 balls to take the match away from the West Indies. Eoin Morgan was also impressive as the England captain also scored a century. As far as the England bowling was concerned, it was a very expensive display but Mark Wood and Adil Rashid impressed with wickets. Mark Wood took 4 wickets while Adil Rashid took 5 wickets to seal the win.
On the other side of the coin, West Indies will be happy about the fact that they managed to compete after conceding over 400. It was a very strong batting display by the West Indies as they also scored an impressive 389 runs. Chris Gayle was the key performer for the West Indies as the opening batsman scored 162 runs in only 97 balls. Gayle hit 11 fours and 14 sixes to give the West Indies a chance. That being said, it was a very poor bowling display by the West Indies as no bowler played well. West Indies will have to improve their bowling if they wish to win this match.
The pitch at the Darren Sammy National Stadium should suit the batting units from both the West Indies and England.
As far as the result of this match is concerned, I am going to pick England to win. England are a better side and they will be very high on confidence after their last win. With both batting and bowling firing, I see England winning that match and taking the series 3-1.
