West Indies +600 / India -1000
West Indies are set to host India in a 2-match Test series. The opening match is set to be played at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua.
The West Indies last played Test cricket in February. It was an outstanding series for the West Indies as they defeated England 2-1 and it restored great pride in the team. The bowling was outstanding from the West Indies as they bowled out England for less than 200 on 4 occasions. Kemar Roach was the star performer for the West Indies as he took 18 wickets in the series. The likes of Jason Holder, Shimron Hetmyer and Shanon Gabriel were also very impressive and it shows the potential in the team. This is expected to be a much harder series for the West Indies as they are playing against the top-ranked team.
On the other side of the coin, India have been playing exceptional Test cricket over the past few years as they have beaten some of the top teams in away conditions. India last played Test cricket in January when they defeated Australia away from home. Cheteshwar Pujara was the key player for India as he scored multiple centuries to blunt a strong Australian bowling unit. Jasprit Bumrah was the top bowler for India in that series. India have a very well balanced Test team and the players will be confident having beaten the West Indies 5-0 in the limited-over series.
The Sir Vivian Richards Stadium produced a very slow scoring game in the Test series between the West Indies and England. The pace bowlers will be helped greatly in this match. Both India and the West Indies have exceptional pace bowlers so this is expected to be a low scoring game.
The West Indies will be confident following their Test series win against England but I see them losing this match. India are the best Test team in the world and they have an outstanding balance to the side. India have a significantly stronger batting unit and I see that being the difference in this match.
