Update (6:24 PM) - Hi Everyone! Decided to go with Woodruff against the Angels as Trout won't be in the lineup tonight. Still going heavy with OAK & SEA on the offensive end. Image is updated below! Good Luck!
Making this one quick this AM as I'm slammed with meetings all morning!
We have a 9-game MLB "Main" Slate tonight that starts at 7:05 PM and let's check out our initial lineup.
On the mound tonight, we're going to be going with Robbie Ray of the Diamondbacks and Yusei Kikuchi of the Mariners.
Ray is always a tough one to roster as you just never know what you're going to get from him and although he has a high ceiling, he certainly has a low floor. Ray has a great strikeout upside, however, can be a bit wild and often has a tendency to get his pitch count up high in a hurry. The good news for Ray tonight is that he is facing a Texas team that ranks just 24th in team strikeout rate (9.82 K/game) and is coming off a solid victory over the Dodgers in which he struck out 9. Ray is risky, but I think he is worth the risk tonight.
Kikuchi is coming off his worst start of the year against the White Sox, however, the rookie LHP from Japan has been solid overall and comes into this game with a 4.02 ERA & 1.09 WHIP. Kikuchi is holding his opponents to just a .238 batting average & .642 OPS and is facing a Royals team that is hitting just .194 vs. LHP on the season. Seattle should be able to put up some solid run support tonight and I think Kikuchi will be able to go at least 6.0 IP and pick up a win here.
We're going right back with a stack of Oakland Athletics as they've been crushing the ball at Camden Yards and have another solid match-up agianst Dan Straily of the Orioles who last just 1.1 IP in his first start agianst the Yankees, giving up 5 ER's on 5 hits & 2 BB's.
As I mentioned above, I think Seattle will be able to provide Kikuchi plenty of run support as they have a great match-up agianst Heath Fillmyer of the Kansas Royals. Seattle is hitting .292 vs RHP on the season and we're getting plenty of action with Vogelbach, Healy, and Bruce.
We're paying up for Bryce Harper as he should be able to exploit his favorable match-up agianst Jeremy Hellickson.
Rounding out the team, we're going with value against with Kole Calhoun as I still think he is under priced on DK when facing a RHP as he has some HR upside and will be leading off.
As always, I will make any necessary updates due to confirmed lineups, weather, etc. I will do my best to update the post but if it’s a last-second update, it’s easier for me to post that with an image on Twitter (@BrettCU05).
