DFS - Fantasy Baseball - MLB Fanduel Lineup - Early Only (1:05 PM) - 7/17/19

Hi Everyone!

It’s Wednesday and we have some afternoon baseball today!

Let’s take a look at our lineup for today’s MLB FanDuel “Early Only” slate that features 4 games and starts at 1:05pm.

On the mound, I’m going to go with some value with the Cubs Yu Darvish in his match-up at home against the Cincinnati Reds. On this short slate, I think Darvish has as much upside as Gray or Archer and I’m happy to roll the dice with him which is price tag sitting at just $7,600. Darvish hasn’t been great this season, however, has been solid in July as he has posted just a 2.84 ERA while striking 14 hitters over 12.2 IP. Darvish has been hit hard by Cincinnati this season, however, he is coming off his best start of the season against Pittsburgh (6.0 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 8 K) and with the wind blowing in at Wrigley today, I think he can put together another solid performance and hit value today.

Starting off the offense today, we’re going to go with a 4-man stack of Minnesota Twins in their match-up against Jason Vargas of the Mets. Jason Vargas has been surprisingly decent this season, however, I’m not going to hesitate getting some power bats of the Twins in the lineup against him as Vargas has allowed at least 1 HR in each of his last 5 starts.

For the Twins, we are rolling with C.J. Cron, Max Kepler, Nelson Cruz, & Mitch Garver.

We have a 3-man stack of Atlanta Braves in their match-up against Chase Anderson of the Brewers. Anderson hasn’t allowed more than 2 ER’s in each of his last 4 starts, however, we all know that Anderson can give up runs in a hurry and certainly can give up HR’s as he has a 1.38 HR/9 ratio. I’m going to be targeting the RHB’s of the braves today as Anderson is a reverse splits pitcher who has allowed RHB’s to post a .304 average & .926 OPS.

For the Braves, we have Josh Donaldson, Dansby Swanson, & Ronald Acuna Jr.

Rounding out the team, we have a value/punt play of Addison Russell for the Cubs at 2B.

Good Luck!
