Hi Everyone!

Happy Thursday!

We’ve had a power outage with our bats this week as although we’ve targeted some big name in some solid match-up’s, we’ve just haven’t gotten the production needed to cash much this week. DFS is always a roller coaster and there is always going to be the ups & downs!

Last night for the “Main Slate” we did hit on Anthony DeSclafani (55 points) & Xander Bogaerts (49.9 points), however, that was about it as although we had Nelson Cruz, Mookie Betts, Miguel Sano, & Franmil Reyes, our next highest scoring output was from Oakland’s Seth Brown at 9.5 points.

We’re not going to wait for the “Main Slate” tonight as we’re going to look get back on track with this afternoon’s “Early Only” slate that features 4 games and starts at 1:10pm.

On the mound, we’re not going to mess around and we’re going to pay up for Cleveland’s Mike Clevinger in his prime match-up against the Tigers at Comerica Park. Clevinger has been outstanding this season as he comes into this game with a 3.00 ERA & 1.12 WHIP has shown elite strikeout stuff as he is currently posting an incredible 13.04 K/9 ratio. Clevinger is holding opponents to a .216 average/.624 OPS on the season and was lights out in his only start earlier this season (6.0 IP, 1 ER, 12 K). The match-up against Detroit couldn’t be much better as the Tigers come into this game rank dead last in MLB in team batting average vs. RHP (.231 average) & team strikeout rate (10.02 K/game).

On the offensive end, we’re going to lead off with a 4-man stack of Oakland Athletics in their match-up against the RHP Glenn Sparkman of the Kansas City Royals. Sparkman has been nothing more than average this season as he comes into this game with a 5.52 ERA & 1.42 WHIP while allowing opponents to post a .288 average/.843 OPS. Sparkman has a concerning 1.89 HR/9 ratio and is allowing LHB’s to post a .930 OPS against him on the season.

For the Athletics, we’re going with Seth Brown, Jurickson Profar, Marcus Semien & Mark Canha.

Staying in this match-up, I’m going with value once again in the Royals Ryan O’Hearn in his match-up against Oakland’s Chris Bassitt.  Bassitt has been solid this season, posting a 3.59 ERA & 1.18 WHIP however, has allowed 4 HR’s in his last four starts. O’Hearn is starting to find his swing that he showed us last year as over the past week he is hitting .278 with 3 HR’s. O’Hearn was outstanding last season vs. RHP’s, posting a .313 average/1.108 OPS and I think he solid value at just $2,400.

Abraham Toro hasn’t been outstanding in his first few MLB games, however, Toro has a ton of talent and I think he is great value pick at his current price right now. Toro posted a .324 average with 17 HR’s in the minors this season and I don’t hate his match-up against what will be a bull-pen game for the Rays today.

We’re still waiting for the Twins to release their lineup for today, but I think there is a good chance that Jake Cave gets a start today against the RHP Dylan Cease of the White Sox. Cease has some solid upside, but has struggled so far in his first season in the majors, posting a 5.76 ERA & 1.48 WHIP. Cease has a 1.98 HR/9 ratio and is allowing LHB’s to post a .310 average/1.021 OPS against him. Cave has seen more action as of late and has taken advantage of the opportunity as he is hitting .385 over the past week (5 for 13) with 3 HR’s. Cave will certainly get the start if Max Kepler is out again.

Rounding out the lineup, we’re going to take the slugging Franmil Reyes in his match-up against the LHP Daniel Norris of the Detroit Tigers. Norris has pitched well as of late in limited action, however, still comes into this game with a 4.70 ERA & 1.39 WHIP. Norris has struggled vs. RHB’s, allowing them to hit .290 with 18 HR’s this season and I like Reyes as he has 33 HR’s on the season and a .819 OPS vs. LHP.
