DFS - Fantasy Baseball - MLB Fanduel Lineup - Early Only (4:05 PM) - 6/29/19
Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 3:05 PM (N/A)
Hope everyone is having a solid start to their weekends.
We’re going to kick off Saturday as we take a look at today’s MLB FanDuel “Early Only” Slate that features 8 games and starts at 4:05pm!
On the mound, we’re going with what I imagine will be a popular pick in Tampa Bay’s Brendan McKay who will be making his MLB debut this afternoon. McKay was a two-way star at Louisville in his college days and is the best pitching prospect on the Rays. McKay has dominated in both Double-AA & Tripe-AAA this season as over his 13 games (11 starts), he has posted a 1.22 ERA with 88 K’s in 66.2 IP. McKay will have the advantage in pitching is a solid pitchers park in Tampa Bay this afternoon and I don’t hate the matchup agianst the Rangers who rank just 23rd in team batting average vs. LHP’s (.238 average) and are dead last in team strikeout rate (9.82 K’s/game).
With the money we’re saving with McKay, we’re going to go with a 4-man Washington Nationals stack in Brian Dozier, Anthony Rendon, Trea Turner, & Juan Soto in their match-up against the LHP Gregory Soto who comes into this game with an 8.66 ERA & 1.98 WHIP in 5 starts this season. Soto is allowing opponents to post a .324 average/1.089 OPS on the season.
Gregory Soto has really struggled agianst RHB’s this season, allowing them to post a .350 average/1.089 OPS which Dozier, Turner, & Rendon should take advantage of and I’m not worried about Juan Soto vs. an LHP as he is hitting .318 over the past week and has posted a .319 average/.974 OPS vs. LHP on the season.
We’re paying up for Carlos Santana as I like having the switch-hitter in my lineup in a good match-up agianst Andrew Cashner and more importantly the struggling Baltimore bullpen. Santana has crushed Baltimore this season to the tune of a .438 average (7 for 16). Santana has an impressive 18 HR’s on the season, and I think he’ll get one off Cashner this afternoon.
I’m also paying up for the powerful bat of Ronald Acuna Jr. in a prime-match-up agianst the LHP Steven Matz of the New York Mets. Matz hasn’t been terrible this season, however, he has had trouble keeping baseballs in the park as he has allowed 5 HR’s over his last two starts and has a 2.08 HR/9 ratio on the season. Acuna Jr. has fared well agianst the Mets this season as he is hitting .364 with 3 HR’s agianst them this season and he has also been outstanding vs. LHP this season as he is hitting .319 while posting a 1.006 OPS.
We’re staying into the ATL/NYM match-up and going with some value in the Mets Dominic Smith who will be up agianst Julio Teheran of the Braves. Smith has been outstanding this season as although the Mets are having a hard time finding playing time for the former 1st round pick, he is still hitting .333 with 7 HR’s and 13 RBI’s. Smith is hitting .364 with 3 HR’s over the past week and has posted a 1.003 OPS vs. RHP on the season.
Rounding out the team will be a value pick in Phillip Ervin who hit a HR for the Reds last night and gets the start today as Cincinnati will be up agianst a LHP in the Cubs Jose Quintana.
Thanks for following as always and don't forget to follow me on Twitter (@BrettCU05) as that is where I can't post list minute changes if needed!
