Hi Everyone!

Our “Very Early Only” lineup is off to a tough start and we’re going to some major action out of our Cubs bats today if we’re going to have any chance to cash in our 50/50’s.

Let’s hope we can get off to a better start with our MLB FanDuel “Early Only” slate that features 3 games and starts at 4:05pm.

On the mound, we’re going to go with some value with the Minnesota’s Twins LHP Martin Perez in his match-up agianst the Detroit Tigers. Perez has started to look more like the starting pitcher we saw over the first two months of the season as of late as over his last three starts, the 7-year veteran has allowed just 4 ER’s over his last three starts. Perez put up a solid 37-point performance against the Tigers in his last start (6.0 IP, 2 ER, 5 K) and you have to like him to hit value today as the Tigers rank dead last in MLB in terms of team average (.237 average) & team strikeout rate (10.05 K’s/game).

On the offensive end, we’re going to doing a 4-man stack of the Minnesota Twins in their match-up agianst the LHP Matthew Boyd of the Detroit Tigers. Boyd has had a solid season, however, it looks as if he is starting to fade down the stretch as over his has allowed at least 5 ER’s in three of his last four starts, while allowing 9 HR’s in those four starts. Boyd has struggled agianst Minnesota this season, posting a 6.92 ERA in his two starts agianst them this season and was roughed up in his last start agianst the Twins, allowing 7 ER’s over 6.0 IP.

For the Twins, we’re going with Mitch Garver, Jonathan Schoop, Nelson Cruz, & C.J. Cron.

Garver is 4 for 10 with a 2B, 3B, & HR vs. Boyd in his career and has a .322 average/1.148 OPS vs. LHP on the season.

Schoop is 2 for 8 with a 2B & HR vs. Boyd in his career and has been on fire as of late, hitting .471 with 4 HR’s over the past week. Schoop has also been great vs. LHP, posting a 1.001 OPS on the season.

Nelson Cruz hasn’t had much success agianst Boyd, however, is hitting .348 over the past week and has a .745 SLG %/1.143 OPS vs. LHP on the season.

C.J Cron is 3 for 11 with 2 HR’s vs. Boyd in his career and has also crushed LHP’s this season, posting a .319 average/1.022 OPS.

We have Scott Kingery of the Philadelphia Phillies in his match-up against the LHP Steven Matz of the Mets. Matz has been pitching lights out as of late, but it’s been a struggled for Matz agianst the Phillies this season as over his 4 appearances, he has posted a 11.45 ERA while allowing the Phillies to hit .370 against him. Kingery has been solid lately, hitting .316 over the past week and has crushed Matz in his career, posting a .455 average (5 for 11) with 2 HR’s & 4 RBI’s.

Francisco Lindor is starting to heat up as he is hitting .320 with 3 HR’s & 5 RBI’s and I like his match-up against the Tampa Bay Rays in what will be a bullpen game. Lindor will lead off the game agianst Diego Castillo who has allowed 5 ER’s over his last three starts (4.0 IP) and has allowed LHB’s to post a .288 average agianst him on the season. Lindor has a .319 average/.937 OPS vs. RHP’s on the season and I think he can lead off the game with a HR today.

Staying in this match-up, I’m going to pay up for the LHB of Austin Meadows of the Rays in his match-up agianst the RHP Zach Plesac of the Indians. Plesac has been solid vs. LHB’s this season, however, Meadows has been outstanding vs. RHP’s, posting a .289 average/.919 OPS. Meadows has also been outstanding vs. Cleveland this season, posting a .348 average (8 for 23) with three doubles and a HR.

Rounding out the team with be J.D. Davis of the New York Mets in his match-up against the LHP Jason Vargas of the Philadelphia Phillies. Davis comes into this game with a .301 average with 18 HR’s his season and has had a monster August, hitting .308 w/ 8 HR’s. Vargas has pitched surpingsly well this season, but we know he can give up HR’s to RHB’s and that’s what I think will happen today agianst J.D. Davis.
