Happy Sunday! Hope everyone has had a nice weekend.
Let’s end the weekend on a winning note as we take a look at today’s MLB FanDuel “Main Slate” that features 9 games and starts at 1:05pm.
On the mound today, you have plenty of solid high-price options (Verlander, deGrom), however, I’m going to save some salary and go with Rick Porcello of the Red Sox in a good match-up agianst the Toronto Blue Jays. Porcello has pitched well over his last two starts and is coming off one of his better starts of the years at Minnesota as the veteran right-hander went 7.0 IP, giving up 0 runs while striking out for an impressive 55-point Fanduel performance. Toronto should be a good match-up for Porcello as they rank just dead last in batting average vs. RHP (.218) and I think the Red Sox are going to try and get as much as they can out of Porcello today as the bullpen needs some rest.
On the offensive side, we’re going to start with a 3-man Cleveland stack of Francisco Lindor, Jordan Luplow, & Jose Ramirez against the LHP Daniel Norris of the Tigers. Norris has been nothing more than average this season and has really struggled vs. RHB’s allowing them to post a .296 average & .802 OPS.
We have a two-man stack of Milwaukee Brewers as we paid up for both Yasmani Grandal & Christian Yelich in their home match-up against the RHP Anthony DeSclafani of the Reds. DeSclafani has pitched well as of late however, has really struggled against Milwaukee in the past as in his three starts last season, he posted a 6.00 ERA, giving up 12 ER’s (4 HR’s) over 18.0 IP. DeSclafani also has a tendency of giving up HR’s as he has a 1.79 HR/9 ratio.
Grandal has 17 HR’s on the season and has been crushing Cincinnati this season as he is hitting .389 (7 for 18) with 2 HR’s. Grandal has 12 HR’s as an LHB this season while posting a .920 OPS.
Yelich is once again putting up MVP numbers as he is hitting .345 with 29 HR’s & 62 RBI’s on the season and has dominated DeSclafani over his career as he is 7 for 15 (.467 average) with 2 HR’s agianst the right-hander.
Derek Dietrich has been hit 6 times so far in his series against Milwaukee and between his knack of getting on base with the fact he is hitting HR’s at a career rate, I like his value agianst Brandon Woodruff this afternoon.
Josh Donaldson and the Braves have a solid match-up agianst Austin Voth this afternoon and I think he has some great value at just $3,000, especially as he is hitting .417 with 3 HR’s over the past week.
Rounding out the team today with by the HR bashing Hunter Renfroe who had 23 HR’s on the season and always has the potential to go off for a big game. Renfroe will be up agianst the LHP Steven Brault of the Pirates and has posted a .318 average/1.172 OPS vs. LHP on the season.
As always, I will make any necessary updates due to confirmed lineups, weather, etc. I will do my best to update the post but if it’s a last-second update, it’s easier for me to post that with an image on Twitter (@BrettCU05).
