UPDATE (12:27 PM) - Hi Everyone! Made a few changes. Decided I wanted to get Corey Dickerson in the lineup as he will be hitting lead-off today I think he has better value than VanMeter. With the extra money, I decided to replace Jake Marisnick with Josh Reddick. Image is updated. Good Luck!
Tough day for us yesterday as we couldn’t are solid week, however, we’re going to get right back at it as we take a look at today’s MLB FanDuel “Main Slate” that features 9 games and starts at 1:05pm.
On the mound today, we’re going to go with some value in the LHP Drew Smyly of the Philadelphia Phillies. Smyly has struggled overall this year, posting a 6.85 ERA & 1.69 WHIP, however, has been lights out since being acquired by the Phillies as over his two starts with Philadelphia he has allowed just 1 ER over 13 IP while striking out 13. Smyly has a respectable 9.09 K/9 ratio on the season and has a nice match-up agianst the White Sox who rank just 22nd in terms of batting average vs. LHP (.266 average) & 26th in team strikeout rate (9.63 K/game).
On the offensive end, we’re going to be stacking the Toronto Blue Jays against the RHP Jimmy Yacabonis and the Baltimore bullpen. Yacabonis has really struggled this season, posting a 7.34 ERA & 1.82 WHIP, which allows Toronto the opportunity to get off to a fast start and as Yacabonis will only go probably at most 2 innings, the Blue Jays will be able to tee off on the Baltimore bullpen which ranks 29th in bullpen ERA, posting a 5.72 ERA.
For the Blue Jays, we’re doing a 4-man stack of the hear of their order in Cavan Biggio, Lourdes Gurriel Jr., Justin Smoak, & Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
Houston will be a popular stack and we’re going to make sure we have some action as the Astros have a solid match-up agianst the RHP Sam Tuivailala of the Seattle Mariners. In limited action this season (4.1 IP) Tuivailala has posted a 4.15 ERA & 1.62 WHIP while allowing his opponents to hit .300 against him.
For the Astros, we’re going with a 2-man stack of Carlos Correa & Jake Marisnick.
Philadelphia will be up against Reynaldo Lopez, who although has been pitching lights out as of late, still has had some issues with the HR ball as he comes into this game with a 1.74 HR/9 ratio. Lopez has really struggled agianst LHB’s this season, posting a .296 average/.895 OPS and I don’t mind taking a chance with the Phillies Bryce Harper today.
Rounding out our team will be Josh VanMeter of the Cincinnati Reds in his match-up against the RHP Julio Teheran of the Braves. VanMeter has cooled off a bit as of late, however, I love the value he has hitting clean-up today and has been solid agianst RHP’s this season, posting a .301 average/.907 OPS.
