Happy Labor Day!
Let’s take a look at today’s MLB FanDuel “Main Slate” that features 8 games and starts at 1:05pm.
I’m just getting back home right now so this is going to be mostly an image only.
On the mound, we’re going with Kyle Hendricks of the Cubs who comes into this game with a 3.47 ERA & 1.12 WHIP and has a solid match-up agianst the Seattle Mariners. Hendricks is holding his opponents to a .245 average/.647 OPS and has been lights out at home this season, posting a 1.79 ERA over 11 starts. Hendricks is as good vs. LHB’s as he is RHB’s which bodes well today as Seattle will have six bats hitting from the left-side of the plate this afternoon.
On the offensive end, we’ll start off with a 3-man stack of Minnesota Twins in their match-up against the RHP Jordan Zimmerman of the Detroit Tigers. Zimmerman comes into this game with a 6.24 ERA & 1.42 WHIP while allowing opponents to post a .292 average/.829 OPS and has especially struggled vs. LHB’s (.320 average/.913 OPS).
For the Twins, we are going with C.J. Cron, Jorge Polanco, & Max Kepler.
We have a 2-man stack of Chicago Cubs in their match-up against the LHP Justus Sheffield of the Mariners. Sheffield has really struggled in his limited action this season as he comes into this game with a 7.94 ERA & 1.94 WHIP while allowing opponents to post a .313 average/.963 OPS. Sheffield has really struggled vs. RHB’s, allowing them to post a .333 average/.890 OPS.
For the Cubs, we’re going with value in Addison Russell and paying up a bit for Nicholas Castellanos.
We have a 2-man stack of Tampa Bay Rays in their match-up against the RHP Asher Wojciechowski of the Baltimore Orioles. Wojciechowski has been solid at times this season, however, he still comes into this game with just a 5.12 ERA and has had trouble with HR’s as he has posted a 2.33 HR/9 ratio.
For the Rays, we are going with Joey Wendle & Austin Meadows.
Rounding out the team, we’re paying up for Bryce Harper in his match-up agianst Anthony DeSclafani of the Reds. DeSclafani has had a decent season, however, his struggles agianst LHB’s have continues as he comes into this game with a .287 average/.914 OPS. Harper is hitting .308 with 2 HR’s over the past week and is 4 for 11 off DeSclafani in his career.
