DFS - Fantasy Baseball - MLB Fanduel Lineup - Main Slate (1:05 PM) - 9/8/19

I know everyone is going to be focused on Week 1 of the NFL today, however, we still do have baseball and we want to keep our MLB momentum going after a solid day yesterday. If this is the first time reading my articles, I do have NFL lineups for both FanDuel & DraftKings!
Coming off of last night’s performance, I’m going w/ another GPP lineup for today’s MLB FanDuel slate that features 11 games and starts at 1:05pm.
On the mound, we’re going with some extreme value in the White Sox’s RHP Dylan Cease in his match-up against the Los Angeles Angels. Cease comes into this game with a less than impressive 6.75 ERA & 1.55 WHIP, however, the MLB rookie looks like he started to figure how to harness his incredible stuff in his last outing agianst Cleveland (6.2 IP, 4 ER, 11 K). Cease pitched even better than his final line ended up being against Cleveland as he just struggled in the 6th inning the White Sox bullpen couldn’t save him. Cease has a solid 9.82 K/9 ratio and I don’t mind taking a chance with him in a GPP lineup against an Angels team that might still be without Mike Trout.
In hopes to get Cease some run support, we’re going to go with both Jose Abreu, Yoan Moncada, & Eloy Jimenez in their match-up agianst the Angels RHP Jaime Barria. Barria has struggled this season, coming into this game with a 6.27 ERA & 1.44 WHIP while allowing opponents to post a .553 slugging %/.883 OPS agianst him. Barria has struggled with HR’s this season, as he comes into this match-up with a 2.18 HR/9 ratio.
Abreu has had another outstanding season, posting a .282 average w/ 30 HR’s & 111 RBI’s and hit a HR off Barria in his only AB against him in his career.
Moncada comes into this game hitting .417 over the past week and has been outstanding as an LHB this season, posting a .314 average/.935 OPS with 22 HR’s.
Jimenez has 24 HR’s on the season and has done more damage this season versus RHP’s, posting a .786 slugging percentage w/ 18 of his 24 HR’s.
We’re going right back to our 3-man stack of Jose Altuve, Alex Bergman, & George Springer in their match-up agianst Felix Hernandez of the Seattle Mariners. Hernandez comes into this game with a 6.02 ERA & 1.45 WHIP and could have trouble keeping the baseball in the park as he has a 2.24 HR/9 ratio.
Altuve is having another great season, hitting .302 with 25 HR’s & 63 RBI’s and owns a .500 average (16 for 32) w/ 2 HR’s agianst Hernandez in his career.
Bregman is hitting .440 over the past week and has a career .364 average (4 for 11) with a HR agianst Hernandez in his career.
Springer is back in the lineup today after a scary head injury earlier this week and like the rest of the Astros, has had great success agianst Hernandez as has posted a .333 average (7 for 21) w/ a HR.
We are not going to sleep on the Texas Rangers as we’ve had the last few days and going with Willie Calhoun in his match-up against Asher Wojciechowski of the Orioles. Wojciechowski has shown flashes of potential this season, however, for the most part has been nothing more than average this season, as he comes into this game with a 5.12 ERA & 1.23 WHIP. Wojciechowski is allowing a .593 slugging %/.942 OPS vs. LHB’s and has posted 2.22 HR/9 ratio.
Rounding out the team, we’re going with Michael Conforto of the New York Mets in his match-up against the RHP Vince Velasquez of the Philadelphia Phillies. Velasquez is allowing LHB’s to post a .843 OPS agianst him on the season while Conforto is 6 for 16 with 3 HR’s agianst Velasquez in his career.
