DFS - Fantasy Baseball - MLB Fanduel Lineup - Main Slate (7:05 PM) - 4/2/19
Update (5:39 PM) - Grichuk is out for the Blue Jays. Made some adjustments. Image is updated. Good Luck!
MLB is back and we’re going to be getting it going with our first FanDuel MLB lineup of the season tonight.
We’re going to be getting back to the NBA also, along with doing DraftKings for MLB, but tonight, we’re just keeping it with FanDuel as I get back into the swing of things.
I’ll also be providing a bit more information about why I’m going with who I’m going to, but as I’m already running behind today, this one is going to be short and sweet.
We have some solid pitching options tonight, however, I’m going to go with Blake Snell. Snell got roughed up a bit in his first start of the season, however, this is a guy that has four quality pitches and was lights out at Tropicana last season as he posted a 1.27 ERA while holding opponents to just a .172 batting average. Snell has an impressive 11.01 K/9 last season and as the Rockies haven’t seen much of Snell over his career, I think they’ll struggle against him in what is one of the better pitchers parks.
We’re stacking the Astros in their match-up against the Rangers Shelby Miller who is a shell of his former self. Miller didn’t look great when he came back from injury late last season as in just 5 games (4 starts), he posted a 10.69 ERA & 2.00 WHIP over 16.0 innings. For the Astros, we have Carlos Correa, Michael Brantley, and Josh Reddick.
We did a mini-stack of Miami Marlins in their match-up agianst Jason Vargas of the Mets. Vargas struggled on the road last season as over 12 road starts, he posted a 7.13 ERA while allowing opponents to hit .299 against him. Vargas allowed RHB’s to post a .511 slugging percentage & .847 OPS against him last year. For the Marlins, I think we get some solid value with Starlin Castro & Brian Anderson. Castro is hitting .333 (3 for 9) against LHP’s this season and was much better against LHP last year, posting a .293 average. Castro has had some success against Vargas has he is 3 for 10 lifetime against him with 3 doubles. Anderson has gotten off to a slow start this season, however, he does have some power and I like him hitting of the 3-hole tonight.
Christian Walker has stormed out of the gates this season as he currently is hitting .545 (6 for 11) with 2 doubles, 2 HR’s, and 5 RBI’s. Walker will be up against Eric Lauer tonight who pitched well in his first start of the season, however, I can’t see Lauer putting back-to-back solid performances. I think Walker is reasonably priced with some HR-upside.
The Boston Red Sox are off to a slow start, but J.D. Martinez is still swinging a hot bat as he comes into this game with a .381 average with 2 HR’s & 7 RBI’s. Martinez will be up against Mike Fiers who although is a solid pitcher, he does give up HR’s as he finished last season with a 1.67 HR/9 ratio.
Randal Grichuk loves seeing the Baltimore Orioles as he picked up right where he left off last season against the Orioles last night, going 2 for 4 with a double, HR, and 2 RBI’s. Grichuk gets a solid match-up against Andrew Cashner tonight and is a very solid price with his upside.
As always, I might make some changes depending on weather, lineups, ETC. I will always do my best to post the updates on the article, however, if it’s a real last second change, make sure you follow me on Twitter (@BrettCU05) as I’ll also post changes there.
Good Luck Tonight!
