DFS - Fantasy Baseball - MLB Fanduel Lineup - Main Slate (7:05 PM) - 4/3/19
Update (6:04 PM) - Hi Everyone! Made my adjustments! Image is updated below. Good Luck!
We got off to a great start last night with our first MLB FanDuel Lineup of the season as our 159.6-point performance had us easily cashing in both our GPP’s & 50/50’s. Blake Snell led the way as he put up a dominating 70-point performance against the Rockies while we got some solid offensive production from Christian Walker & Starlin Castro who each had HR’s.
Here is my “initial” lineup for tonight’s “Main” MLB slate.
On the mound, I’m going with one of the top options in the Dodgers Ross Stripling as it’s hard to ignore his outstanding match-up against a Giants lineup that is hitting just .205 on the season against RHP’s. Striping was outstanding last season against the Giants as in 11.0 IP, he posted a 1.64 ERA while holding the Giants to just a .195 batting average. Stripling posted an impressive 10.03 K/9 ratio last season so he has the ability to pile up some points tonight against the Giants who currently rank just 20th in team strikeout rate.
We’re going to stay with the Dodgers and we like the stack of Kike Hernandez, Chris Taylor, and A.J. Pollock against the LHP Derek Holland of the Giants. Holland was hit hard against the Padres in his first start of the season (4.0 IP; 3 ER, 1 HR, 2 BB) and it could get worse tonight against a Dodgers team who has already hit 17 HR’s this season. Holland gave up 19 HR’s last season to RHB’s, while allowing RHB’s to post a .798 OPS against him.
Hernandez is one of the more obvious choices for a Dodgers stack as this is a player who had crushed LHP throughout his career. Hernandez is hitting .400 on the season with 2 HR’s and is 5 for 10 against LHP on the young season. Chris Taylor has gotten off to a slow start, however, he has HR upside and I think he reasonably priced under $3,000 for this match-up. A.J. Pollock has gotten off to a nice start with his new team as he is hitting .360 with a HR. Pollock has posted a respectable .787 OPS against LHP over his last three seasons and is 5 for 9 against LHP’s this season.
Houston has one of the better match-ups on the slate against the LHP Mike Minor of the Rangers and we’re looking at a 2-man stack of Tyler White & Carlos Correa.
Minor was lit up in his first start against the Cubs as he gave up 6 ER’s in just 4.2 IP. Minor saw plenty of the Astros last season and wasn’t anything special against them as over 5 starts, he posted a 4.88 ERA (15 ER’s in 27.2 IP).
Tyler White should get the start tonight is a solid value option at just $2,400. White has a ton of power, posted a .909 OPS vs. LHP last season, and is 2 for 2 with a HR against Minor in his career.
Carlos Correa is hitting .364 on the young season and is it’s hard not to go with such a talented player at just a $3,200 price tag.
The Boston Red Sox are going to hit the ball at some point, and although I’m not paying up for some of the bigger bats, I think there is some solid value with both Jackie Bradley Jr. & Mitch Moreland in their decent match-up against Marco Estrada.
Rounding out the team, I’m sticking with Oakland and paying up for Matt Chapman. Chapman was one of the better players in all of baseball in the 2nd half of the season last year and has started this year on a tear as he is hitting .345 with 3 HR’s and is riding a 7-game hitting streak. Chapman is a solid fastball hitter and I think he can time up one of Eovaldi’s fastballs tonight.
As always, I might make some changes depending on weather, lineups, ETC. I will always do my best to post the updates on the article, however, if it’s a real last second change, make sure you follow me on Twitter (@BrettCU05) as I’ll also post changes there.
