Update (6:47 PM) - Decided to go with a more well-rounded lineup. I love CLE matchup however, Lindor is 0-8 against Lopez in his career & it's really is hard to trust Ramirez at the moment. Image is updated. Good Luck!
Let’s get the week started off right as we take a look at tonight’s MLB FanDuel “Main” slate that features 6 games and starts at 7:05 pm.
On the mound, we’re going to go with Arizona’s Robbie Ray who is having a solid season as he comes into this match-up with a 3.30 ERA & 1.28 WHIP while sporting an impressive 11.34 K/9 ratio. Ray has been solid as of late, giving up just 1 ER or less in 3 of his last 4 starts and you have to like his matchup at home agianst the Pirates who rank just 23rd in team batting average vs. LHP (.229 average) & 26th in team OPS (.662) in away games.
We’re staying in the PIT/ARI game as we’re going with a 3-man stack of David Peralta, Jarrod Dyson, and Eduardo Escobar in their match-up against Pittsburgh’s Nick Kingham. Kingham has really struggled this season as he comes into this game with a 5.94 ERA & 1.50 WHIP. Kingham has really struggled agianst LHB’s this season as he is allowing LHB’s to post a .308 average & 1.091 OPS.
Peralta is having another solid season for the Diamondbacks as he is hitting .321 on the season with 6 HR’s & 26 RBI’s. Peralta is hitting .370 over the past week and has posted a .336 average/.966 OPS vs. RHP on the season.
Dyson is hitting just .274 on the season but he does have 3 HR’s and certainly has plenty of speed on the basepaths as he has 7 SB on the season. Dyson dominated Pittsburgh in their earlier series this season (6 for 13) and I think he’ll have another solid game tonight.
Similar to Dyson, Escobar gave the Pirates all sorts of trouble in their earlier series this season as he went 9 for 15 (.600 average) with 2 2B’s, 1 3B, 1 HR, & 5 RBI’s. Escobar had an impressive 1.009 OPS in April and is hitting .302 at home this season.
We’re also going to go with a 4-man stack of the Cleveland Indians tonight in Jason Kipnis, Jose Ramirez, Francisco Lindor, and Carlos Gonzalez as we love their match-up agianst Reynaldo Lopez of the Chicago White Sox. Lopez had some nice starts agianst Detroit in late April, however, it’s mostly been a struggle for the right-hander as he comes into this game with a 6.38 ERA, 1.75 WHIP, and 1.91 HR/9.
Kipnis is hitting just .205 on the season, however, he should be hitting at the top of the lineup against a RHP and has been better as of late, hitting .280 with 4 doubles over the past week.
Ramirez is off to another slow start this season, however, we know it’s only a matter of time until Ramirez starts crushing the baseball. Lopez is 3 for 10 with a HR agianst Lopez in his career and has posted a .924 OPS vs. RHP over his last 3 seasons.
Similar to Ramirez, Lindor is off to a slow start for his standards as he comes into this match-up, hitting just .278 with 4 HR’s & 9 RBI’s. Lindor is hitting .355 over the past week and I’m going to take advantage of rostering Lindor while his price sits in the mid-$3,000 range.
Gonzalez has hits in each of his last 4 starts and as I like the HR upside that he brings at a reasonable price, I think he going to be a popular choice tonight.
Rounding out our team will be Daniel Vogelbach of the Seattle Mariners in their match-up agianst Oakland’s Mike Fiers. Fiers is coming off his 2nd career no-hitter, however, he still comes into this game with a 5.48 ERA and it’s going to be hard to imagine that he will have much in the tank after throwing 131 pitches in his last start. Fiers is a fly-ball pitcher that can give up HR’s which could cause trouble agianst a Mariners team that can pile up HR’s in a hurry.
Vogelbach has struggled as of late at the plate, hitting just .091 over the past week, however, there is no denying his power as the 3-year veteran has already hit 9 HR’s on the season. Vogelbach has posted a 1.023 OPS vs. RHP on the season and I think he has a solid shot at a HR tonight.
As always, I will make any necessary updates due to confirmed lineups, weather, etc. I will do my best to update the post but if it’s a last-second update, it’s easier for me to post that with an image on Twitter (@BrettCU05).
