DFS - Fantasy Baseball - MLB Fanduel Lineup - Main Slate (7:05 PM) - 5/24/19
Friday, May 24, 2019 at 6:05 PM (N/A)
Let’s start off Memorial Weekend off the right way as we take a look at today’s MLB FanDuel “Main” Slate that features 14 games and starts at 7:05pm.
I’m going to go with value tonight and take a chance on Washington’s Kyle McGowin who will be make a spot start for the Nationals in a solid match-up against the Miami Marlins. McGowin hasn’t dominated in triple-AAA this season, posting a 4.32 ERA in 8 starts, but what I like about him is that he has some solid K-upside as he has a 10.8 K/9 ratio. Miami ranks just 27th in team batting average (.219 average) vs. RHP and 18th in team strikeout rate and I think McGowin can get us a quality start with 7-10 K’s tonight.
On the offensive end, we’re going to pay up for the two big bats of the Colorado Rockies in Nolan Arenado & Trevor Story in their match-up agianst the LHP John Means of the Orioles at Coors Field. Means has been solid this season for the Orioles, however, has given up 4 HR’s in his last 4 starts.
Arenado is always worth the high price tag when he is at home vs. an LHP as he has posted a .370 average/1.258 OPS vs. LHP on the season and a .355 average at home.
Story has 11 HR’s on the season and also have been solid vs. LHP as he has posted a .300 average/.800 OPS on the season.
We are going with a 2-man stack of Boston Red Sox in Steve Pearce & Mookie Betts in their match-up at Houston against the LHP Wade Miley. Miley has given up at least 1 HR in each of his last 7 starts and has fared much worse against RHB’s, allowing them to post a .257 average/.733 OPS.
Steve Pearce finally broke out of his season long slump last night as he went 3 for 5 with a HR & RBI’s and has a career .333 average (7 for 21) with 2 HR’s against Miley in his career.
Mookie Betts has a monster first series agianst Houston this season, going 5 for 12 (.417 average) and has owned Miley in his career, hitting .545 (6 for 11) against him with 3 doubles & 1 HR.
We have a 3-main stack of Oakland Athletics in their match-up agianst the LHP Wade LeBlanc of the Seattle Mariners. LeBlanc has struggled this season, posting a 7.36 ERA & 1.91 WHIP and is coming off a tough outing against Minnesota in which he last just 2.1 innings while giving up 7 ER’s (4 HR’s).
Jurickson Profar is hitting just .200 on the season, however, has been hot as of last hitting .333 over the past week with 2 HR’s. Profar has posted a .325 average/.872 ops vs. LHP on the season and has a career .300 average vs. LeBlanc.
Chad Pinder has hits in each of his last 4 games and has some HR-upside as the comes into this game with 5 HR’s on the season. Pinder looks like he will be hitting in the middle of the Oakland lineup and has a .300 average/.893 OPS vs. LHP on the season.
Mark Canah has hit 3 HR’s over the past week, and I think he’ll be able to make it three straight games with a HR tonight in a prime match-up against LeBlanc.
Rounding out the team, we’re paying for Mike Trout in his match-up agianst the LHP Drew Smyly of the Texas Rangers. Smyly comes into this game with a 6.51 ERA & 1.73 WHIP and is allowing opponents to post a .849 OPS agianst him on the season. Trout is hitting .368 over the past week and has a 1.153 OPS with 2 HR’s against Smyly in his career.
As always, I will make any necessary updates due to confirmed lineups, weather, etc. I will do my best to update the post but if it’s a last-second update, it’s easier for me to post that with an image on Twitter (@BrettCU05).
