Update (6:21 PM) - Hi Everyone! Sticking with the BOS stack, however, added a 4-man MIN stack as I do really like that match-up and decided to get the main bats of the Twins in the lineup. Image is updated below. Good Luck!
Our BOS & TOR stacks didn’t pan out for us last night, however, let’s get back on the winning track as we look at tonight’s MLB FanDuel “Main Slate” that features 13 games and starts at 7:05 pm.
As it’s already late in the afternoon, I’m keeping this article pretty short.
I’m going value on the mound again for the 2nd straight night and going with the Angels top pitching prospect in Griffin Canning. Canning only lasted just 4.1 innings in his debut, however, he showed that he has some strong K-upside after retiring 5 of his for 9 batters with strikeouts. Detroit ranks just 23rd in team batting average (.233) and rank dead last in team strikeout rate (10.03 K/games) and I think Canning can get through 6 innings tonight with 6-10 K’s.
The BOS stack disappointed us last night, but I’m not going to be gun shy for the 2nd straight night in their match-up against David Hess. Hess comes into this game with a 5.34 ERA and has really struggled with HR’s as he comes into this match-up with a 2.37 HR/9 ratio. The Red Sox have already seen plenty of Hess so far in his young career and the current Red Sox lineup has posted a .317 average/1.088 OPS in 60 AB’s agianst the right-hander.
For the Red Sox, we’re loading up with Rafael Devers, Mookie Betts, J.D. Martinez, and Andrew Benintendi.
We’re loading up with some value with the San Francisco Giants Brandon Belt & Joe Panik as they are reasonable price for a match-up at Coors agianst the Rockies RHP Antonio Senzatela. Senzatela has posted just a 5.04 ERA at Coors Field coming into this season and his only home outing this season didn’t go well as gave up 4 ER’s on 7 hits in 6.0 IP.
Belt & Panik have had some solid success agianst Senzatela in their careers as they come in with a combined .406 average (13 for 32) with 4 doubles & 2 HR’s agianst the right-hander.
I like the value that the Angels Andrelton Simmons has tonight in his match-up against the LHP Daniel Norris of the Tigers. Norris has just a 3.47 ERA on the season, however, he does have a 1.50 WHIP and has really struggled agianst RHB’s as he is allowing them to post a .333 average & .848 OPS. Simmons has hit LHP’s to the tune of a .316 average/.895 OPS this season and has a career .333 average against Norris.
Rounding out the team, I’m taking a chance on Tyler White of the Houston Astros. White is long overdue for a HR and is starting to swing a better bat as he is hitting .444 over the past week, including a 2 for 3 performance with 2 doubles in his last start agianst the Angels last Saturday. White has a match-up agianst the LHP Danny Duffy who can surrender some HR’s as he had a 1.34 HR/9 ratio last season.
As always, I will make any necessary updates due to confirmed lineups, weather, etc. I will do my best to update the post but if it’s a last-second update, it’s easier for me to post that with an image on Twitter (@BrettCU05).
