Update (5:58 PM) - There are slight rain concerns for TOR/BAL but the bats look mostly safe. I've decided to go with a full 4-man NYY stack now against Nova. Image is updated. Good Luck!
We had a solid night last night as our MLB FanDuel “Main Slate” lineup posted a solid score of 160.3-points which had us cashing in both our GPP’s & 50/50’s.
Let’s keep the winning going tonight as we take a look at our “initial lineup” for tonight’s MLB FanDuel “Main Slate” that features 9 games and starts at 7:05pm.
On the mound, we’re going to go with some value today and go with the Cardinals Jack Flaherty in his solid match-up against the New York Mets. Flaherty is coming off a tough start agianst the Cubs, however, he has been decent this season and has solid K-upside as he is posting a 9.61 K/9 ratio. I like the match-up against the Mets as they rank just 18th vs. RHP in batting average (.244 average) and 22nd in team strikeout rate.
On the offensive end, we’re going to start off with a 3-man stack of Arizona Diamondbacks in Eduardo Escobar, David Peralta, and Jarrod Dyson in their match-up against the Nationals Erick Fedde. Fedde has pitched well this season, however, has allowed HR’s in each of last 2 starts while allowing LHB’s to hit .295 off him on the season.
Escobar is having a great start to his season as he is hitting .295 with 17 HR’s & 55 RBI’s. Escobar has been on a tear as of late, hitting .474 over the past week and has a .301 average/.913 OPS on the road this season.
Peralta is hitting a respectable .298 with 9 HR’s this season, however, similar to Escobar, has been more dangerous on the road as he has posted a .312 average/.910 OPS in away games this season. Peralta has been outstanding vs. RHP’s, posting a .321 average with 8 of his 9 HR’s.
Dyson continues the trend of Diamondbacks who have been better on the road as although he is hitting just .263 on the season, Dyson has posted a .310 average on the road this season. Dyson has some nice value as he will be leading off tonight and can always have a big game with his speed on the basepaths.
We have a couple of Yankees tonight in Gleyber Torres & Didi Gregorius in their prime match-up against the RHP Ian Nova of the Chicago White Sox. Nova has had a rough season as he has posted a 6.28 ERA WHIP & 1.62 WHIP. Nova has been hit hard by both LHB’s & RHB’s this season as LHB’s are hitting .358 against him, while RHB’s are hitting .302.
Torres is hitting just .279 on the season, however, has shown that he has some solid pop in that bat as he has 14 HR’s & 33 RBI’s. Torres has been much better agianst RHP’s this season, posting a .889 OPS with 13 of his 14 HR’s.
Gregorius has had a nice start to his season as over his first 4 games since returning from injury, he is hitting .429 with a HR & 2 RBI’s. Gregorius posted a .854 OPS vs. RHP last season and has plenty of power to do damage agianst Nova.
We’re going back to Rowdy Tellez tonight as he just has too much value at just $2,300. Tellez hit a grand slam last night and will be back at the very hitter friendly Camden Yards tonight with the wind blowing out. Tellez has a decent match-up against Gabriel Ynoa who given up 3 HR’s in his last two starts and has a 1.65 HR/9 ratio.
Chris Taylor should start seeing regular time with the Corey Seager injury and as he is more projected to be in the middle of the Dodgers lineup tonight as the Dodgers are up agianst a LHP (Jon Lester), I think he has great value with some HR-upside at just $2,300.
Rounding out the team, we’re going to go to Colorado and spend up on Trevor Story. Story will be up against Matt Strahm who will be making his first start since June 2nd and allowed 2 HR’s in each of his previous three starts. Story has struggled a bit as of late, however, their no denying his upside at Coors where he is hitting .317 with 9 HR’s this season.
As always, I will make any necessary updates due to confirmed lineups, weather, etc. I will do my best to update the post but if it’s a last-second update, it’s easier for me to post that with an image on Twitter (@BrettCU05).
