DFS - Fantasy Baseball - MLB Fanduel Lineup - Main Slate (7:05 PM) - 8/20/19
Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at 6:05 PM (N/A)
Update (6:23 PM) - Hi Everyone! I've decided that I needed to get some action on with Atlanta so I've decided to pay up for Freddie Freeman and go with a value pick in Rafael Ortega. We are also going to do a 4-man stack of LAA with Fletcher, Ohtani, Pujols, & Ohtani. We decided to pay up for Ketel Marte who is 7 for 19 (.368 average) vs. Kyle Freeland and has posted a .336 average/.644 slugging/1.018 OPS vs. LHP on the season. Image is updated. Good Luck!
If you haven’t seen my earlier posts on our Facebook Group Page or on Twitter (@BrettCU05), I’m going to continue to provide DFS & Fantasy Sport content going forward! I’m no longer going to be doing articles for CFB & CBB which is going to open up more time to start providing additional content!
I’m going to take the next week or two to figure out my new work schedule/commute and continue to unpack the new house, however, I should be up and running with more material (will get back to proving DK lineups!!!) by the start of the Football season.
Until then, I’m going to continue to do the MLB Fanduel lineups and let’s look at tonight’s “Main Slate” that features 15 games and starts at 7:05pm.
We have a ton of great offensive match-ups tonight so I’m going with extreme value on the mound with Tampa Bay’s LHP Jalen Beeks who will take on the long reliever role of the Rays tonight against the Seattle Mariners. Beeks was roughed up in his last start, however, has excelled in the long-reliever role this season, as he has posted a 2.97 ERA over 72.2 IP while holding opponents to a .250 average/.700 OPS. Beeks has posted a couple solid outings of 38 & 41 FanDuel points in the long relief role this season and I like the match-up agianst Seattle who ranks just 20th in team batting average vs. LHP (.250 average) & 28th in team strikeout rate (9.82 K’s/game).
There are going to be a lot of runs scored tonight and we’re going to start off with a 2-man stack of Philadelphia Phillies in Rhys Hoskins & Jean Segura in their match-up against the LHP Brian Johnson of the Red Sox. Johnson has really struggled for the Red Sox this season as he comes into this game with a 6.45 ERA & 2.01 WHIP while allowing RHB’s to post a .406 average/1.162 OPS agianst him.
Hoskins has struggled a bit as of late however, has 24 HR’s on the season and has fared well agianst LHP’s, posting a .995 OPS.
Segura has been on fire as of late, hitting .348 over the past week and has posted a .294 average/.933 OPS vs. LHP on the season.
We also have a 2-man stack of Texas Rangers in Rougned Odor & Willie Calhoun in their match-up agianst the RHP Jaime Barria of the Los Angeles Angels. Barria comes into this game with a 6.62 ERA and has really struggled keeping the ball in the ballpark as he has allowed 7 HR’s in his last three starts and currently has a 2.44 HR/9 ratio.
Odor has struggled as of late, however, has solid HR-upside as he has 21 HR’s on the season and has been solid since the All-Star break, posting a .826 OPS.
Calhoun is hitting .360 over the past week and just blasted his 12th HR of the season while I’m writing up this article…haha.
Staying in the TEX/LAA game, I’m paying up for Mike Trout who will be up agianst the LHP Brock Burke of the Texas Rangers. Burke has pitched in about every level of the minor leagues this seasons and he didn’t look great in his 2 starts at Triple-AAA Nashville as he allowed 7 ER’s on 12 hits in just 8.0 IP.
Trout continues to show why he is going to go down as one of the best players in MLB history as he currently has 42 HR’s and prior to the day game today, was hitting .364 over the past week.
We’re also going to be paying up for Cody Bellinger of the Los Angeles Dodgers in his match-up against the RHP Sean Reid-Foley of the Blue Jays. Reid-Foley has posted a solid ERA this season (3.00), however, he comes into this game with a 1.57 WHIP while allowing LHB’s to post a .847 OPS agianst him.
Bellinger has been crushing the ball as of late, posting a .320 average with 4 HR’s and has hit RHP’s to the tune of a .322 average/1.092 OPS on the season.
Rounding out the team, we’re going with some value picks in Asdrubal Cabrera of the Nationals and Josh VanMeter of the Cincinnati Reds.
Cabrera will be up agianst Chris Archer of the Pirates, who although is pitching better as of late, still comes into this match-up with a 5.23 ERA & 1.41 WHIP. Archer is allowing LHB’s to post a .801 OPS and comes into this game with a 1.90 HR/9 ratio. Cabrera has a HR off Archer in his career and has 11 of his 13 HR’s this season as an LHB.
Joh VanMeter will hitting leadoff tonight for the Reds and you have to love his value of just $2,600 in his match-up agianst the RHP Cal Quantrill of the Padres. Quantrill has fared much worse agianst LHB’s on the season while VanMeter comes into this game hitting .338 with 3 HR’s in 74 AB’s at Great American Ball Park.
