DFS - Fantasy Baseball - MLB Fanduel Lineup - Main Slate (7:05 PM) - 8/23/19
Friday, August 23, 2019 at 6:05 PM (N/A)
Hope everyone is having a great Friday!
We took another shot at this afternoon “Single Game” even between WAS/CHC and although it wasn’t a huge outing and we didn’t cash in the GPP’s, I was able to case in both 50/50’s right on the mark (Lucky!!!!) with our 47.2-point performance.
It was a tough day for a “Main Event” lineup yesterday as although Gerrit Cole came through for us, our value picks on the offensive end didn’t do much.
Let’s take a look at tonight’s MLB FanDuel lineup that features 13 games and starts at 7:05pm.
On the mound tonight, we’re going to pay up for the Cardinals Jack Flaherty in his home match-up agianst the Colorado Rockies. Flaherty has been solid this season, posting a 3.46 ERA & 1.10 WHIP while posting a solid 10.39 K/9 ratio. Flaherty has been lights out in the month of August, as over his 4 starts, the right-hander has posted a 0.35 ERA while striking out 37 batters in 26.0 IP. Flaherty has been outstanding at home this season, posting a 2.89 ERA while holding opponents to a .213 batting average and I like his match-up against the Rockies who rank 28th team batting average in “away” games (.235 average) and 22nd in team strikeout rate (9.10 K’s/game).
On the offensive end, we’re going with a 4-man stack of Tampa Bay Rays in their matchup agianst the LHP Ty Blach of the Orioles. Blach has had a rough season as over his 15.2 IP this year, he comes into this game posting a 12.06 ERA & 2.30 WHIP. Blach is allowing opponents to post a .366 average/1.078 OPS and has really struggled agianst both LHB’s (.409 average/1.162 OPS) & RHB’s (.347 average/1.041 OPS).
For the Rays, we’re going to pay up for Tommy Pham and go with some solid value in Jesus Aguilar, Matt Duffy, & Willy Adames.
Derek Dietrich has really struggled after a hot start to his season, however, I’m willing to take a chance at a near minimum price with him tonight as Dietrich has 19 HR’s on the season and has a great match-up agianst the RHP Mitch Keller of the Pirates. Keller has made just 5 starts for Pittsburgh this season in which he has allowed 6 ER’s in three of them and is allowing LHB’s to post a .343 average/.882 OPS against him.
We’re paying up for Christian Yelich for the Brewers as I love his matchup agianst the RHP Merrill Kelly of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Kelly has been nothing more than average this season, posting a 4.63 ERA & 1.32 WHIP and has had trouble with the HR ball as he has allowed 8 HR’s over his last 5 starts. Yelich has put up MVP numbers again this season, posting a .332 average with 41 HR’s and has crushed RHP’s to the tune of a .361 average/1.211 OPS on the season.
Philadelphia has a great match-up against the RHP Hector Noesi of the Miami Marlins who comes into this game with a 9.39 ERA & 1.50 WHIP while allowing at least 5 ER’s in each of his three starts this season. Dickerson has been solid since returning from injury as he has posted a .297 average with 7 HR’s & 37 RBI’s in 59 games and has posted a .329 average/.987 OPS vs. RHP’s this season.
Rounding out the team, we’re going to pay up for the Mets Michael Conforto of the Mets in his matchup against the RHP Mike Foltynewicz of the Braves. Foltynewicz hasn’t looked like the same pitcher we saw last season and comes into this game with a 6.09 ERA & 1.47 WHIP. Conforto has had a decent season with 27 HR’s and has hit .286 with 2 HR’s over the past week.
