Update (5:48 PM) - Hi Everyone! Made some final updates. Decided to go w/ a 3-man LAD stack. We put Josh Rojas in for some value and we still have Lindor, Schwarber, & Castellanos! Image is updated. Good Luck!
Updated (4:40 PM) - Hi Everyone! Had to make some adjustments. I decided to go with a 3-man CLE stack as I added Perez & Allen w/ Lindor. I switched out Heyward and now have a 2-man stack of Cubs with Schwarber & Castellanos. Candelario has some nice value vs. Mike Montgomery while we also added Corey Seager. Image is updated. Good Luck!
We got off to a great start this week as our 152.7-point performance yesterday had us easily cashing in both our 50/50’s & GPP’s.
Let’s keep the winning going as we take a look at tonight’s “Main Slate” which features 12-games and starts at 7:05pm.
On the mound tonight, we’re going to pay the heavy price to roster the Indians RHP Mike Clevinger who has an outstanding match-up against the Chicago White Sox. Clevinger comes into this game with an incredible 2.72 ERA & 1.06 WHIP while posting the best K/9 ratio on the slate (12.87 K/9). Clevinger is holding his opponents to just a .210 average/.600 OPS while holding the current White Sox roster to just a .185 average/.569 OPS. Clevinger has one of the best match-ups on the slate as the White Sox rank just 25th in team strikeout rate (9.49 K’s/game) and Clevinger has already had a dominant start agianst them this season (7.0 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 12 K).
We’re going to start our offense with a 2-man value stack of Los Angeles Dodgers in Matt Beaty & Gavin Lux in their match-up against the RHP Chi Chi Gonzalez of the Colorado Rockies. Gonzalez comes into this game with an 8.07 ERA/1.82 WHIP and over his last two starts, he has gone a combined 5.0 IP while allowing 12 ER’s on 10 hits (2 HR’s). Gonzalez has really struggled agianst LHB’s this season as he is allowing them to post a .311 average/.607 slugging %/1.055 OPS.
Matt Beaty has played well as of late, hitting .318 w/ a HR over the past week and has been outstanding at Dodger Stadium, posting a .317 average w/ 4 of his 8 HR’s.
Gavin Lux is the Dodgers top prospect and he didn’t disappoint in his MLB debut, going 3 for 5 with a 2B & 3 Runs. Lux hit .347 with 26 HR’s in 113 games in the minors this season and tonight will probably be the last time you’ll be able to roster him at minimum price.
We have a 2-man stack of Cleveland Indians in Francisco Lindor & Yu Chang in their match-up agianst the RHP Dylan Cease of the Chicago White Sox. Cease has struggled since being called up to the majors as he comes into this game with a 6.92 ERA & 1.63 WHIP while allowing his opponents to post a .292 average/.908 OPS. Cease has really been hurt by LHB’s, allowing them to post a .330 average/1.055 OPS and has struggled w/ HR’s, posting a 2.25 HR/9 ratio.
Lindor comes into this game with a .298 average with 26 HR’s and has been much better as an LHB this season, posting a .312 average/.925 OPS (20 of his 26 HR’s). Lindor is hitting .349 against the White Sox this season and I think that success continues tonight.
Yu Chang hasn’t been anything outstanding since being called up, however, he did have 9 HR’s in his 68 games at Triple-AAA this season and I think is a decent “punt” play in this match-up.
Khris Davis has started to turn a corner as over his last three games, he has gone 6 for 11 w/ 3 BB, 2B, HR & 2 RBI’s and I like his value tonight agianst the RHP Jamie Barria of the Angels. Barria comes into this game with a 6.10 ERA/1.44 WHIP and has struggled w/ HR’s this season, posting a 2.18 HR/9 ratio. Barria has struggled more agianst RHB’s, allowing them to post a .308 average/1.001 OPS and I think Davis will be able go yard tonight.
I’m paying up for Mookie Betts as he has too much value at just $3,800 in his match-up agianst the RHP Randy Dobnak of the Twins. Dobnak will be making his MLB start tonight and although he hasn’t allowed a run over 8.0 innings of relief, he has certainly given up plenty of hits as he comes into this game with a 1.63 WHIP. Betts is hitting .333 w/ 2 HR’s over the past week and the former MVP has actually been much better vs. RHP this season, posting a .294 average/.920 OPS.
Jason Hayward will be leading off for the Cubs tonight and between the fact that he is just $2,700 and has a match-up agianst the RHP Felix Hernandez, I think Heyward is one of the better value plays tonight. Hernandez comes into this game with a 6.02 ERA/1.42 WHIP on the season and comes into this game with a 2.19 HR/9 ratio. Hernandez is allowing LHB’s to post a .296 average/.936 OPS and although Heyward hasn’t recorded a hit for over a week, he does have 18 HR’s on the season and has posted a .831 OPS vs. RHP.
Rounding out our team, we’re going to stay in the SEA/CHC matchup and go with the Mariners Austin Nola in his match-up agianst the LHP Jon Lester. Lester has had an up and down seasons and comes into this match-up with a 4.36 ERA/1.44 WHIP while allowing his opponents to post a .286 average/.797 OPS. Nola is hitting .329 w/ 6 of his 7 HR’s on the road this season and I like his HR-upside tonight against Lester who has allowed 20 HR’s to RHB’s on the season.
