Update (6:45 PM) - Decided to switch Tyler Austin for Justin Bour! Image is updated. Good Luck!
Hope you’re all having a great Thursday.
Here is out squad tonight for FanDuel’s MLB “Main Slate” contest that features 4 games and starts at 7:10pm tonight!
On the mound, we’re not going to mess around and we’re going to pay up for Washington’s Stephen Strasburg in his great match-up on the road against Miami. Strasburg has been solid this season as he comes into this match-up with a 3.79 ERA & 1.08 WHIP to go along with an impressive 10.59 K/9 ratio. Strasburg was lights out vs. Miami early this season (8.0 IP, 0 ER, 11 K’s) and could be in for another big game tonight as the Marlins rank dead last in terms of batting average vs. RHP (.237 average) & OPS (.653).
On the offensive side, the Dodgers will be a popular play tonight and although we can’t get a full stack together as we’ve paid up for Strasburg, we’re able to fit in both Alex Verdugo & Matt Beaty who should being seeing starts agianst the RHP Peter Lambert who struggled agianst the Dodgers in his last start and is allowing LHB’s to post a .313 average/1.017 OPS against him on the season.
I’ve been attacking RHP Tyler Beede of the Giants all season and it’s for the most part been a successful strategy as Beede comes into this game with a 6.96 ERA & 1.95 WHIP. Beede has really struggled agianst LHB’s this season, allowing them to post a .315 average/1.026 OPS and allowed 4 ER’s in just 4.0 IP in his only start against Arizona early this season.
For the Diamondbacks, I’m going with a trio of in Ketel Marte, Nick Ahmed, and David Peralta.
Staying in this match-up, I don’t mind going with some value in Evan Longoria in his match-up agianst the LHP Alex Young who will be making his MLB debut tonight. Longoria might not same hitter he once was, however, he still has some pop in his bat as he comes into this game with 7 HR’s and I don’t mind taking a chance with him tonight.
Rounding out the team, we’re going with some value picks with LAA in Justin Bour & Kole Calhoun in their match-up against the RHP Tanner Anderson of the Oakland A’s. Anderson has been solid this season, however, has struggled vs. LHB’s as he is allowing them to post a .300 average/.897 OPS.
Bour has been solid in the month of June in his limited playing time as he is hitting .304 with 4 HR’s which included a 2 for 4 performance yesterday with 2 HR’s.
Calhoun has struggled as of late, however, he has had no trouble hitting for power this season as he comes into this game with 16 HR’s and has a solid .797 OPS vs. RHP.
Thanks for following as always and don't forget to follow me on Twitter (@BrettCU05) as that is where I can't post list minute changes if needed!
Good Luck tonight!
