We continued our strong run this week as after our monster 245.6-point performance on Monday’s “Main Slate”, we ended up cashing in both of our 50/50’s & GPP’s last night with our 162.7-point performance.
Let’s continue our strong run as we take a look at today’s MLB FanDuel “Very Early Only” slate that features 5 games and starts at 12:37pm.
As we’re only about an hour away from first pitch, I’m keeping this one pretty short.
On the mound, it came down to Wide Miley or Sean Reid-Foley and although I do like Miley and his match-up against the White Sox, I just didn’t want to spend $9,000 for him so I decided to go with the value with Reid-Foley.
Reid-Foley has pitched well this season as he comes into this game with a 2.36 ERA despite having a 1.50 WHIP. The match-up against Texas is a bit dangerous, however, Reid-Foley has been pitching well as of late, which included going 5.0 innings against the NYY while giving up just 1 ER and striking out 5 for the win. Reid-Foley can have some control issues, however, I think he has a bit of strikeout upside today against a Rangers team that ranks dead last in MLB in team strikeout rate at 9.92 K’s/game.
As I mentioned above, although I like Wade Miley today, I would rather spend up on Houston’s bats than him today and that’s exactly what we did as we have a 2-man HOU stack vs. the LHP Ross Detwiler of the White Sox. Detwiler comes into this game with a 5.35 ERA & 1.49 WHIP while allowing opponents to post a .301 average/.942 OPS against him. Detwiler has been solid vs. LHB’s this season, however, has been rocked by RHB’s as he is allowing RHB’s to post a .343 average & 1.052 OPS.
For the Astros, we’re going with Carlos Correa, & George Springer.
I imagine Houston will be the most popular stack today, however, I’m going with a full 4-man stack of the Cleveland Indians vs. the LHP Brian Johnson of the Boston Red Sox who currently is allowing RHB’s to post a .433 average/1.250 OPS against him.
For the Indians, we’ve paid up for Carlos Santana, Jose Ramirez, Franmil Reyes, & Francisco Lindor.
We’re going to roll with Randal Grichuk of the Blue Jays who has been lighting up the Texas Rangers in the Blue Jays current series as he is 5 for 9 with 2 HR’s. Grichuk will be up against the LHP Kolby Allard who will be making his 2nd career MLB start and posted just a combined 3.99 ERA in Triple-AAA this season (Gwinnett & Nashville).
Rounding out the team will be Thairo Estrada who will be making a spot start today for the Yankees. I don’t mind rolling with him as he has 3 HR’s in just 50 AB’s this season and faces a HR-prone Dylan Bundy at home this afternoon.
