Update (6:25 PM) - Made some adjustments to the DraftKings lineup as we know have a trio of Rozier, Hayward, and Morris now that Irving & Smart are out. We have Lou Williams who I think will have a big game agianst NO and still have our high-cost players in A. Davis & J. Nurkic. We're hoping for value out of Tony Parker and I think Bagley III could be in for a big game if he can see 25-30 minutes of action. Image is updated. Good Luck!
DFS – Fantasy Basketball – NBA DraftKings Initial Lineup – 1/14/19
We didn’t have time to make the updates yesterday as I was out watching football and although we missed out on the GPP’s, we were still able to make some money as our 276.5-point performance has us cashing in our 50/50’s.
Let’s keep the winning going as we take an initial look of tonight’s DraftKings, 6-game NBA “Main” Slate that starts at 7:30pm!
Kyrie Irving is currently questionable with a quadriceps injury and if he is not able to take the court tonight, Rozier becomes almost a must play at his current $3,900 price-tag. Rozier is averaging 8.5 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 2.8 apg on the season, however, we have seen over the past two seasons how much his usage skyrockets when Irving is on the bench in street clothes. Rozier recently averaged 34.5 DraftKings points per game when Irving missed a couple of games in early January due to an eye injury and as the Nets currently rank just 24th vs. opposing PG’s, I think we can pencil Rozier in for 30+ if Irving doesn’t play.
As much as I would like to afford Harden in this spot, I’m not going away from Donavon Mitchell who has been crushing value since having to take the PG duties over for the Jazz while Rubio, Exum, and Neto are all out. Mitchell has been lights out as of late as over his past 5 games, he is averaging 30.4 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 5.6 apg, 1.0 bpg, & 1.2 spg. Mitchell has averaged 56.75 DraftKings points over his last two games since filling in at the PG spot and as Detroit ranks just 21st against opposing PG’s, I think Mitchell will put up another 55+ DraftKings points tonight.
As we’ve been doing over the past few games, we’re stacking some Utah Jazz value at the SF spot with Royce O’Neal. O’Neale is averaging 38.5 mpg since Neto went down and has taken advantage of his extra playing time as in those two games, O’Neale is averaging 12.5 ppg, 9.0 rpg, 2.5 apg, 1.0 bpg, and 1.5 spg. O’Neale has seen his price-tag go up, however, as it’s still below the $5,000 mark, I think he still is a steal.
JaMychal Green makes a decent value pick tonight as the 4-year veteran out of Alabama has been playing really well as of late, averaging 17.3 ppg, 9.0 rpg, & 1.0 spg over his last three games. Green could see a slight uptick in minutes with Kyle Anderson on the sidelines and I don’t mind the match-up against the Rockets, as Green recently put up a 32.5 DraftKings point performance (17 pts, 6 reb, 2ast, 1 blk, 1 stl) against them about 2-weeks ago.
At the center position, it’s hard not to go with Portland’s Jusuf Nurkic as although he is on the 2nd half of a back-to-back, Nurkic has an outstanding match-up against the Kings tonight. If you recall from a couple weeks ago, Nurkic put up a career performance agianst the Kings as he went off for an 82.75 DraftKings point performance after posting a stat line of 24 pts, 23 reb, 7 ast, 5 stl, & 5 blk. Nurkic is averaging 18.9 ppg & 11.6 rpg over his last 5 games and although we can’t expect another 80+ point outing, he certainly has an ability to get us 55-60 DraftKings points tonight.
Justin Holiday hasn’t made a major impact since being traded to the Grizzlies from the Bulls, however, with Kyle Anderson sidelined with an ankle injury, it looks like Holiday will be entering the starting lineup tonight. Holiday has shown that he can put up decent stat lines when he gets minutes as I expect him to see 25-30 minutes tonight, I think he’ll easily hit value at his $3,400 price tag.
LAC/NO has by far the highest Over/Under on the slate and as the Clippers have struggled against opposing bigs all season, I’m going to spend up for Anthony Davis tonight. Davis was a disappointment for us against the Timberwolves over the weekend as although he came out of the gates hot and put up about 25-Draftkings points in the 1st quarter alone, Davis struggled down the stretch and didn’t come close to his value after finishing with 53.5 DraftKings points. Despite the lackluster night, I have no hesitations getting Davis back in the lineup tonight as on the season, he is averaging 28.9 ppg, 13.3 rpg, & 2.6 bpg.
At the FLEX position tonight, we’re going to get some value from the Spurs David Bertans. With Rudy Gay out with injury, Bertans is seeing 25-30 minutes per game and is coming off a respectable 24.0 DraftKings point performance agianst the Thunder last Sunday, despite going just 3 for 9 from the field. Bertans has upside as he can get hot behind the arc and as he should see plenty of minutes, I don’t mind going with him as a value pick as of right now.
Check back later for updates.
