DFS – Fantasy Basketball – NBA DraftKings Initial Lineup – 1/15/19
DFS provided me with a reminder last night that even when you our confident your team, it doesn’t mean it won’t absolutely blow up in your face. Our 236.5-point performance was one of the weaker performances we’ve had this season as outside of Anthony Davis, basically everything went wrong.
The good news is that is DFS which means we can just shake off last night’s contests and get right back to some winning lineups tonight!!!
Here is our initial lineup for the 6-game NBA DraftKings “Main” Slate that starts at 7:00pm tonight.
Starting off our lineup tonight, will be the Lakers Lonzo Ball who has a great match-up at home agianst the Chicago Bulls. Ball has been and probably will always be an inconsistent source of offense for the Lakers, however, he has been a solid DFS contributor as of late with his ability to fill up the stat sheets with assists, rebounds, & steals. Ball is averaging 11.5 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 7.5 apg, & 2.0 spg in 36 mpg over his last 4 games and faces a Bulls team that ranks just 17th vs. opposing PG’s.
Unless you decided to stay away from NBA news earlier this season, you already know all the drama that went on in Minnesota with Jimmy Butler and how, during a practice, he took bench players and defeated the rest of the Minnesota starting five. Butler is going to be as motivated to put on an absolute show agianst Wiggins & Anthony-Towns tonight and as I’m sure his usage is going to be a bit higher than normal tonight, there is no way I’m not getting Butler in my lineups tonight.
Justise Winslow continues to take advantage of his time as the Miami Heat’s PG as over his past 5 games, the former 10th overall pick out of Duke is averaging 15.4 ppg, 5.2 rpg, & 6.4 apg. Winslow has triple-double upside on any given night and as he just posted performances of 40.25 & 43.75 DraftKings points against two tough defenses team in the Celtics & Grizzlies, I think he can continue his recent run of strong play agianst the Bucks tonight.
Omari Spellman has the potential to be a great value pick tonight as with Dewayne Dedmon out of the lineup on Sunday, Spellman got the start and 29 minutes of action in which he turned in a solid 31.0 DraftKings point performance. Dedmon is currently doubtful for tonight so if Spellman gets the start, I think he’ll be able to at worst hit value at his low $3,800 price tag.
Steven Adams doesn’t have the upside of an Embiid, Jokic, or Antony-Towns, however, he has been a solid and steady DFS player this season and I think he has some solid upside in a good match-up agianst a Hawks team that has struggled against opposing bigs all season. Adams comes into this game averaging 15.4 ppg, 10.1 rpg, 1.7 apg, & 1.5 spg on the season and as I see a lot of lobs coming from Westbrook in this one, I think Adams will be able to get us 40+ DraftKings points tonight.
Dennis Schroder lit up his old team for 18 pts, 8 ast, 3 reb, & 2 blk in his first appearance against them this season and there is no reason that Schroder can’t put up huge numbers again, especially as the Hawks have really struggled agianst PG’s/SG’s on the season. Schroder is coming off a solid 37.25 DraftKings point performance agianst the Spurs this past Saturday and as I think he will see some extra run tonight, I think Schroder easily hits value agianst the Hawks.
I’m going to stick with the Oklahoma City supporting cast and roster Jerami Grant who has had a solid season with the Thunder as he comes into this game averaging 12.6 ppg, 5.0 rpg, & 1.3 bpg. Grant put up a monster 48.0 DraftKings point performance agianst the Spurs recently and I’m encouraged that over his last 5 games, he is averaging about 10 shots per game. As we mentioned with Stephen Adams, the Hawks have been terrible agianst opposing bigs this season and as Grant does have 35+ DraftKings point upside, I’ll take my chances with him tonight.
We’ll have to keep an eye on Myles Turner to see if he is back in the starting lineup tonight for the Pacers, however, if he is not, that I’m going to look at getting Domantas Sabonis in my lineups. Over his past 5 games, Sabonis is averaging 19.2 ppg, 10.8 rpg, & 4.2 apg. Sabonis is shooting a remarkable 62.2% from the field this season and as I don’t think that the Suns have an answer on the defensive end for Sabonis, I expect him to be able to go off for another big night tonight.
Please check back later for updates.
