DFS – Fantasy Basketball – NBA DraftKings Initial Lineup – 12/29/18
UPDATE (6:32 PM) - It looks like Wall, Potter Jr, and Morris are all confirmed out so I'm sticking with the orginial lineup from this morning as I like the value we get from our three Wizards players (Bryant, Satoransky, & Green) and from Luke Kornet while spending up for the dangerous Harden/Davis duo. Good Luck!
We had a solid night last night as our 321.5-point performance last night had us easily cashing in both the GPP’s & 50/50.
We have an 8-game NBA slate tonight that starts at 7:00pm and let’s take a look at our initial lineup.
We’ll have to keep an eye on the news concerning John Wall (Doubtful) & Markieff Morris (GTD) however, if they aren’t able to go, I’m going with a 3-man stack of the Wizards which includes, Tomas Satoransky, Jeff Green, and Thomas Bryant. This combo combined for an impressive 82.3 DraftKings points last night and we did see solid production from everyone as Satoransky’s 24.0-point performance was the lowest of the bunch. It’s a bit concerning that Washington is on the 2nd half of a back-to-back, however, if they are still missing all those players, I expect to see all 3 of these players posting 30+ minutes in a game that has a respectable Over/Under of 219.
We have Trae Young going at our PG spot as he has a solid matchup against a Cleveland Cavaliers team will be on the 2nd half of a back-to-back. Cleveland has been terrible agianst PG’s (this is why we took Justice Winslow last night who went off for 50+ DraftKings points) and I like how Young has looked recently as he is averaging 15.8 ppg, 8.0 apg, 3.8 rpg, & 1.0 spg over his last 5 games. Young has been great against Cleveland this season as in his two games agianst the Cavaliers, he is averaging 29.5 ppg & 7.5 apg and as his price is reasonable, I think he has some nice upside tonight.
Luke Kornet entered the starting lineup last Thursday and he didn’t disappoint as he put up 23 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists and a block in 34 minutes of action. The matchup against Utah isn’t the greatest, however, Kornet does most of his damage from beyond the arc (7-11 3PM-3PA) agianst Milwaukee and there is no way I’m not getting him in my lineup for a minimum price if he is going to see 34 minutes and put up 17 total shots again.
With all the money we saved, we’re able to pay up for both of the main targets on the slate with James Harden & Anthony Davis. Harden has 70+ DraftKings points written all over this matchup with Chris Paul still out and as Anthony Davis went up for a monster 84.25 DraftKings Point performance last night, I think we could see a combined 150 DraftKings points between these two players along tonight.
Rounding out the team, I’m staying in the HOU/NO matchup and going with Eric Gordon who is averaging 18.2 ppg, 3.4 rpg, & 4.0 apg in an incredible 35.8 mpg over his last 5 games. Gordon is putting up an average of about 17 shots per game over the past week and as this is a solid matchup agianst the Pelicans, I don’t mind pairing him with Harden.
