Update (7:26 PM) - I've ended up just going the value route for the PHI/DEN game as I just don't want to spend up for both Simmons/Jokic in what could be a blowout in Denver. Image is updated! Good Luck!
DFS – Fantasy Basketball – NBA DraftKings Initial Lineup – 1/26/19
We have an exciting 4-game NBA Slate tonight that starts at 8:00 pm and let’s check out our initial lineup for tonight.
Kyrie Irving has really started to play well as of late and over his last 4 games, Irving is averaging 30.8 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 11.0 apg, & 2.5 spg. Irving should be well-rested for the Celtics big match-up for the Warriors tonight and as he got the night off in the Celtics last game against Cleveland on Wednesday and between the fact that the Celtics will need his scoring and that he is shooting 60.3% of his last 4 games, I love Irving tonight.
I’m going to stay in the Golden State/Boston game and pay up for Stephen Curry tonight. Stephen Curry is coming off an impressive 38-point performance on 14-24 shooting agianst the Wizards on Thursday and is having another incredible season as he is currently averaging 29.5 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 5.5 apg, and 1.2 spg. Curry is shooting 49.1% on the season and as he averaged 29.0 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 5.0 apg, & 3.0 spg against the Celtics last season, I think he is a great play tonight.
Philadelphia is going to be short-handed tonight as Joel Embiid has already been ruled out for rest purposes and Jimmy Butler is currently questionable due to his wrist injury. This leaves Ben Simmons needing to pretty much do everything for the 76ers tonight if they want to steal a win at Denver. Simmons comes into this game averaging 16.6 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 8.3 apg & 1.3 spg on the season and if he can get some shots to fall tonight, I think we’ll see a triple-double from Simmons if the 76ers can keep the game close.
On top of Embiid already being ruled out, Wilson Chandler will miss tonight’s game due to injury and I think that makes Jonah Bolden have some great value tonight. Bolden is averaging 1.39 DraftKings points/min over his last 5 games and I expect him to see 20-25 minutes tonight, he has some great value.
I decided to go with my Irving/Curry/Simmons trio so although Jokic is in a great spot tonight, I decided to not pay the $10,700 for him. Instead, I’m going with his teammate in Paul Millsap who should be able to take equal advantage of a weak 76ers front-court tonight. Millsap went for 20 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, & 3 steals in just 22 minutes last night agianst the Suns and I think he’ll have another productive night tonight.
Jamal Murray had to leave last night’s game due to an ankle injury and I’ll be surprised if he is going to be able to go tonight. If Murray is out, this should open up some minutes for Monte Morris who has shown earlier this season that he can produce. Morris put up a 23.75 DraftKings point performance last night in 25 minutes as I think he will see another 25-30 minutes if Murray is out, he has some of the best value on the slate as he is currently at priced at just $3,600.
Al-Farouq Aminu hasn’t produced much in his last three games however, he still having a productive season as he is averaging 9.5 ppg, 8.2 rpg, & 1.2 apg. Atlanta has been terrible against opposing PF’s on the season and as Aminu has the ability to stuff a stat sheet, I like him in this match-up tonight.
I’m excited to watch the Golden State/Boston game tonight and I’m putting Marcus Smart in my lineup as it just seems that this the type of game he excels in. Smart is averaging just 7.9 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 4.0 apg, & 1.7 spg on the season however, he always has some solid upside with his ability to put up a bunch of defensive stats. Smart isn’t afraid to shoot the three-pointer if opened even though he is shooting just 36.6% from arc, however, if he can put up 15 or so points tonight. I think he can get us a 30-35 DraftKings point performance.
Check back later for updates.
