Update (6:50 PM) - Hi Everyone! I made some adjustments to get Kyle Anderson back in the lineup. Image is updated. Good Luck!
Update (5:58 PM) - Hi Everyone! As the NBA news has come out throughout the day, I was able to find enough value to get James Harden in my lineups tonight. To make room for him, we decided to go with Shabazz Napier who should be seeing plenty of court time with the amount of injuries that Brooklyn is dealing with tonight in their match-up against the Celtics. Napier has seen 23+ minutes a game over his last 4 games and I think he will have no trouble hitting value tonight. I had to take Josh Hart done, but I'm ok going with Caldwell-Pope who is seeing a bunch of playing time since LeBron has been out and has posted 33.0+ DK points in 3 of his last 4 games. We also have JaMychal Green in the lineup as I think MEM is going to need his size agianst the Pelicans tonight. DFS – Fantasy Basketball – NBA DraftKings Initial Lineup – 1/7/19
Here is our initial lineup for today’s NBA 8-game “Featured” Slate that starts at 7:00pm tonight.
I’m running a bit behind schedule this AM so I’m going to keep this article pretty short, however, I should be back to my regular schedule tomorrow!
Derick White (PG) is really starting to come into his own for the Spurs as over his last 5 games, he is averaging 16.4 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 2.8 apg, & 2.2 spg in a solid 29.2 mpg. White has been on fire with his shot as of late, as over his past three games he is shooting a ridiculous 82.3% from the field (24 for 29) and as the Pistons just let D.J. Augustin go off for a 46.0 DraftKings point night, I think White will be able to easily hit value for us tonight.
I’m going with the Sacramento Kings duo of Bogdan Bogdanovic (SG) & Buddy Hield (G) in their match-up agianst the Orlando Magic. Iman Shumpert missed his game due to a finger injury and as he looks like he is going to be out again, this is opens solid minutes for both players especially as Bogdanovic got the start last game. Both Bogdanovic & Hield saw a team-high 35 minutes last game and both had productive games as Bogdanovic had a 42.0 DraftKings point night (17 pts, 6 reb, 7 ast, 3 stl) while Hield went off for a 48.25 DraftKings point night (32 pts, 5 reb, 4 ast). Orlando ranks just 18th in DEFF & 20th in DRPM vs. opposing SG’s and I like that duo to have another big night tonight.
Kyle Anderson (SF) is not the flashiest player you will ever see however, he sees a ton of minutes and with his ability to fill out a stat sheet, I think he is a steal at just $5,200 tonight in what should be a fast-paced matchup against the Pelicans. Anderson is averaging 12.6 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 4.2 apg, 1.8 spg & 1.0 bpg over his last 5 games which included a triple-double agianst the News last Friday.
I’m spending up a bit for Orlando’s Aaron Gordon (PF) & Nikola Vucevic (C) in their matchup agianst the Kings tonight.
Gordon has been a bit underwhelming as of late as he is coming off sub-30 DraftKings point performances agianst the Timberwolves & Clippers, however, at just a $7,200 price tag, there is a lot to like about Gordon tonight in a matchup agianst the fast-paced Kings. Gordon comes into this game averaging 15.3 ppg, 7.4 rpg, & 3.4 apg and did put up a solid double-double in a 39.5 DraftKings point performance agianst the Kings earlier this season.
Nikola Vucevic is always prone to a disappointing game, however, he has some of the best upside on the slate tonight and comes into this game topping 52.5+ DraftKings points in 3 of his last 6 games, including a monster 72.75 DraftKings point performance agianst the Raptors in late December. Vucevic is averaging 20.2 ppg, 12.0 rpg, 3.7 apg, 1.2 bpg, & 1.0 spg over his last 5 games and as we know the Kings can give up big games to opposing centers after giving up an 82.75 DraftKings point performance to Nurkic, I’m going to make sure that Vucevic is in my lineups tonight.
Derrick Favors has seen at least 25 minutes in each of his last 4 games and has been playing some of his best basketball as of late as he is averaging 14 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 1.5 apg, & 2.0 bpg in that span. Favors has topped 30.25 DraftKings points in 3 of his last 4 games and with a good matchup agianst the Bucks tonight, I think he hits 5x value again.
We were able to fit in Brandon Ingram on our FanDuel lineup however, as his price seems a bit too high on DraftKings, I’ll go for the more affordable Josh Hart (Utility) tonight for the Lakers. Hart has seen an average of 34.4 minutes in has last 5 games and although he is coming off disappointing outings in his last two games, he is still averaging 12.6 ppg, 7.4 rpg, 2.8 apg, & 1.6 spg in that time span. Hart has 40+ DraftKings point upside with LeBron on the sidelines and as I like that matchup against the Mavericks, I’m comfortable rostering the former Villanova product tonight.
