DFS – Fantasy Basketball – NBA FanDuel Lineup – Wednesday GPP Special - 1/9/19
We have a great 10-game NBA slate tonight that starts at 7:00pm and I’ve decided to do a special GPP lineup for tonight.
Leading off for us tonight, we’re going to roster Jeremy Lin of the Atlanta Hawks who put up a solid 34.3 FanDuel point performance (20 pts, 4 reb, 9 ast) last night agianst the Toronto Raptors. Lin got a spot start with Kevin Hurter being out due to a back injury and as he is still currently a GTD for tonight, you have to love the upside Lin brings if he sees another start against his former team, the Brooklyn Nets, who rank just 25th against opposing PG’s on the season.
We’re going to stay in this match-up and roster Shabazz Napier who even before the Nets were hit hard with injuries, was starting to see some major minutes. Napier got a spot start for the Nets against the Celtics on Monday and had a solid 29 FanDuel point performance (10 pts, 5 reb, 6 ast, 2 blk, 1 stl). We’ll have to monitor the injury status of the various players that are currently GTD for the Nets, however, even before the spot start on Monday, he saw an average of 26.8 mpg in his previous 4-games and if he sees anywhere near that total tonight, should be able to hit value agianst an Atlanta Hawks defense that has really struggled against PG’s all season.
I’m paying up for James Harden tonight as the Rockets have one of the highest Over/Under totals on the slate currently at 226.0 and I’m expecting a duel between Harden & Antetokounmpo. Harden comes into this game averaging 33.7 ppg, 8.7 apg, 5.9 rpg & 2.0 spg and has been playing at an unreal level since losing Chris Paul & Eric Gordon to injury.
It’s hard at times to roster Jordan Clarkson as he is so scoring dependent and can see inconsistent minutes, however, I’m a fan of rostering Clarkson tonight in his match-up agianst the fast-paced Pelicans. Clarkson saw an impressive 32 minutes in his last outing against the Pacers and has put up a combined 37 shots over his last two games. Clarkson is coming off back-to-back performances of 34.9 & 36.3 FanDuel points and if he sees the floor for 25+ minutes tonight, I think he can hit those totals again.
As I mentioned under my Harden write-up, I think we’re going to see a duel between Harden & Antetokounmpo tonight and I want both of them in my lineup tonight. Antetokounmpo is coming off two incredible games agianst Utah & Toronto in which he averaged 36.5 ppg, 14 rpg, 3 apg, 1 bpg, & 1 spg and as I expect him to put up another 25+ shots tonight, I think Antetokounmpo has 70+ FanDuel point upside tonight.
DeMarre Carroll looks like he is more probable to play tonight and if so, I think he has some of the best value on the slate tonight. Carroll was playing some of his best basketball as of late before missing Monday’s game agianst the Celtics, as in his previous 5 games he was averaging 18.4 ppg, 5.6 rpg, & 2.8 apg. Carroll saw 31 minutes of action against his former team earlier this season and as you know he’ll have some extra motivation to perform well tonight, I think he can certainly hit value at his current price point.
John Collins is averaging 18.4 ppg, 10.5 rpg, & 2.4 apg on the season and as we generally target a PF or Center against the Brooklyn frontcourt, Collins will have that honor for us tonight. Collins is averaging 17 ppg, 13.5 rpg over his last two games and I expect him to continue to put up those type of numbers tonight agianst the Nets.
As bad as Brooklyn has been against opposing front-courts, the Atlanta Hawks haven’t been much better and as I don’t have much salary left at this point, I have no problem going with Rodions Kurucs. Kurucs put up a solid 24-point performance on 8-15 shooting agianst he Celtics on Monday and although he didn’t do much on the boards, he certainly has upside to put up 30+ FanDuel points tonight. I currently have Kurucs in their as would think his minutes are pretty safe, however, if we do receive word that Faried is going to be a part of the rotation again tonight, I will plug him in as I do have the extra $100 to afford him and just think he has more upside as he has posted 33.9+ FanDuel points in the last two games he has seen considerable minutes.
I’m currently reserving my “low-scoring “option tonight at the Center position and going with Jahlil Okafor of the Pelicans. Okafor has become a part of the rotation for the Pelicans and although he is not seeing major minutes, he has seen 19+ minutes in each of his last two games. Okafor has never been able to get on the floor due to his inability to play any defense, however, the good news is that he is actually a decent offensive player and can put up stats in a hurry. In 19 minutes agianst the Cavaliers last week, Okafor put up 10 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 blocks for a 22.3 FanDuel point performance and I think if he sees 20-25 minutes tonight, he can get us 25 FanDuel points.
Check back later for updates.
