DFS – Fantasy Basketball – NBA FanDuel Initial Lineup – 1/10/19
Update (6:29 PM) - Hi Everyone! Decided that I'm doing a 4-man stack of the Pistons now that Blake Griffin is out and they have a solid match-up against the fast-paced Kings. We are planning on "punting" Avery Bradley and I think we can get a bunch of production from our Fox/George/Aldridge/Drummond foursome. Image is updated! Good Luck!
We got back on track last night as our “Wednesday GPP Special” put up a solid 333.4-point performance last night and easily cashed in the GPP’s & 50/50’s.
We’re going to try and keep that momentum going tonight as we look at tonight’s NBA 4-game slate that starts at 7:00pm.
At the PG position, we’re going to start with trying to get some value out of Detroit’s Reggie Jackson. Jackson is having a solid season as he is averaging 15.1 ppg, 2.7 rpg, & 4.3 apg in 28.2 mpg and is in a decent spot tonight as he will be up against the fast-paced Sacramento Kings, who ranked 29th in the NBA vs. opposing PG’s. Jackson was able to put up a 38.4 FanDuel point performance agianst the Suns, who play a similar style as the Kings, and as I think he can top 30 FanDuel points tonight, I think he is decent value.
I’m paying up for Russell Westbrook tonight as I think he is the high-price option that has the most upside on tonight’s short slate. Westbrook is averaging 24.8 ppg, 11.2 rpg, 11.4 apg, 1.0 bpg, & 1.6 spg over his last 5 games and there is no one in the San Antonio backcourt that will be able to match-up with Westbrook tonight. Westbrook has started to shot the ball better as of late and if he can put up 25-30 points tonight, I think we’re looking at a 65-70 FanDuel point performance.
I’m going with value at the SG position today and it starts with Jaylen Brown of the Celtics. Brown is coming off a solid game last night in which he put up 22 pts, 7 reb, 3 ast, 1 blk, and a steal and I’m not afraid of getting him back in the lineup as his value is just too good to pass up on. Brown how a low floor, however, the Celtics have looked good over the past week and as Brown has averaged 17.4 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 2.6 apg & 1.0 spg over his last 5 games, I think he solid play tonight.
Malik Beasley has come back to earth a bit after a solid 5-game stretch that saw him averaging 32.0 FanDuel points a game, however, if Garry Harris is out once again with his hamstring injury, I think it’s hard to pass up on Beasley at his $3,900 price tag. Beasley didn’t do much against the Heat in their recent game (10.2 FanDuel points), however, he did see 36 minutes of action and I wouldn’t be surprised if he saw that many minutes tonight if Harris out. Beasley went off for a 32.3 FanDuel point night recently against the Clippers and I’m hoping for those same results tonight.
I’m going all-in on the Thunder tonight as I’m going to pair Paul George with Russell Westbrook. Paul George is putting up MVP numbers this season as he is averaging 26.8 ppg, 8.0 rpg, 3.9 apg, & 2.2 spg. San Antonio ranks just 20th against opposing SF’s on the season and although George has struggled with his shot recently, I think he bounces back here with a big performance.
I’m going to use my “low-scoring” option today with Stanley Johnson of the Pistons as he has seen at least 10+ minutes in three consecutive games and had a decent 21 FanDuel point performance last night agianst the Lakers. The Pistons are on the 2nd half of a back-to-back and agianst a Kings team that likes to push the pace and Johnson has shown flashes before of putting up big games.
At the PF position, I’m going to roster Paul Millsap of the Nuggets as he is still reasonable priced and looks fully healed from his recent injury. Millsap saw 30 minutes of floor time in the Nuggets recent game against Heat and put up a solid 33.8 FanDuel point performance. Millsap has put up 33.8+ FanDuel points in 3 of his last 5 games and I think he’ll be able to add to that total tonight against an LA Clippers defense that ranks just 17th vs. opposing PF’s.
I’m going back to the Celtics for some more value in Marcus Morris. Morris has been outstanding this season for the Celtics as he comes into this game averaging 15.5 ppg, 5.9 rpg, & 1.4 apg and is coming off a solid 34.6 FanDuel point performance agianst the Pacers last night in which he had 22 pts, 8 reb, and 2 ast. Morris isn’t shy getting shots up when has the opportunity and as he is shooting 52.6% from beyond the arc over his last 5 games, I think he can hit value tonight.
I’m paying up for Andre Drummond tonight at the Center position as it’s hard not like his match-up against the Sacramento Kings tonight. Drummond is a double-double machine as he comes in averaging 16.8 ppg, 15.0 rpg, 1.2 apg, 1.8 bpg, & 1.6 spg. Drummond struggled from the field last night agianst the Lakers, but still came through with a respectable 40.9 FanDuel point performance. The Pistons are on a back-to-back, however, I’m not that concerned with Drummond as he played 37 minutes and put up a 55.4 FanDuel point performance that last time the Pistons were on the 2nd half of a back-to-back.
