Update (6:37 PM) - Made some additional changes as I wanted to get Lowry in the lineup with his favorable match-up agianst the Suns. I'm ok taking out Siakam/Ibaka and replacing them with Portis/Young. Image is updated. Good Luck!
Update (6:23 PM) - Hi Everyone! Made some adjustments to the lineup! Image is updated! Good Luck!
DFS – Fantasy Basketball – NBA FanDuel Initial Lineup – 1/17/19
It’s not been the greatest start to our week, however, if you’ve played DFS as long as I have, you know it’s a roller-coaster and you just have to keep on grinding to get out of it.
I’m looking to get back on track tonight as we have a solid 5-game NBA slate that starts at 7:00 pm!
We’re not going to mess around today and we’re going to start our lineup, paying up for both Russell Westbrook & Paul George in their match-up against the Lakers.
Westbrook is once agianst putting up insane numbers as coming into this match-up he is averaging 21.7 ppg, 10.7 rpg, 10.6 apg & 2.6 spg. Westbrook put up a 56.2 FanDuel point performance agianst the Lakers earlier this month and he could have easily gone for 70+ FanDuel points as he was just 3 for 20 from the field in that game.
Paul George decided to stick with OKC instead of signing with the Lakers last offseason and he had no problem sticking it to his hometown team in their match-up in early January as he finished that game with 37 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, & 4 steals. George struggled from beyond the arc that game, going just 2 for 11 from three-point range, however, you know he had the motivation to stick it to the Lakers as he put up a season high 29 shots in that contest. The Lakers rank 24th vs. opposing SF’s on the season and as I think George will once agianst bring a little extra motivation into this game, I think we’ll see another 50+ FanDuel point outing.
Darren Collison is coming off back-to-back 33+ FanDuel point games and is in a great spot against the fast-paced Philadelphia 76ers to make it three straight tonight. Collison is averaging 9.2 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 5.6 apg on the season and had a respectable 26.4 FanDuel point performance in his last game agianst the 76ers (8 pts, 10 ast, 2 reb, 1 stl).
Malik Beasley continues to see a bunch of minutes while Gary Harris and has been a great value pick to deploy over the past few weeks. Beasley has seen an average of 35.4 mpg over his last 5 contests and even with Barton starting to pick up more minutes, it was encouraging to see Beasley still see 33 minutes agianst the Warriors on Tuesday. Beasley is averaging 16.0 ppg, 2.2 apg, 1.0 rpg over his last 5 games and if Harris is out, will once agianst be a solid value pick in a great match-up agianst the Bulls.
Jeremy Lamb continues to have his best season as a pro and comes into this game averaging 15.2 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 1.9 apg, & 1.0 spg. Lamb didn’t have his best game recently against the Kings, however, I expect this game to be a lot higher scoring than the 104-97 outcome that we saw last Saturday. Lamb has 40+ FanDuel point upside and as I just think it’s tough not to roster him while his price-tag sits below the $6,000 mark.
I think Barton is a great play tonight as he is still not priced accordingly due to his recent injury and minutes restriction since returning. Barton did see 23 minutes agianst the Warriors recently and I think it’s going to be safe to say that he is going to see about 25-30 minutes tonight. Barton put up a solid 27.6 FanDuel point performance (11 pts, 8 reb, 4 ast, 1 blk) agianst the Warriors on Tuesday despite struggling from the field and as we do know Barton isn’t shy putting up shots, I think he has some nice value at just $5,400.
Marvin Bagley III has put together three consecutive solid outings and as it looks like he is locked in for about 25 mpg right now, I love the upside he brings to tonight’s slate. Bagley put together a solid 26.7 FanDuel point performance (13 pts, 11 reb, 1 ast) against the Trailblazers on Monday and it could have even been a better game as he fouled out. Bagley has shown us earlier this season he can go off for a 40+ FanDuel point game at any moment and as I think he matches up well agianst the Hornets, I don’t mind paying a mid-range price for him.
Bobby Portis is most likely going to be a very highly owned player tonight as we should expect a bit of a minutes increase with Wendell Carter Jr. out. Portis has been a very productive DFS player this season when he has been able to stay out on the court and although he struggled with his shot against the Lakers this past Tuesday, he put up at least 15 points in his previous three games.
As we paid up for Westbrook & George, we had to find some value at the Center position and I’m going with the Hornets Bismack Biyombo. Biyombo seems to be the guy that the Hornets trust the most at the center position while Zeller is out and I like the fact that he saw 25 minutes of action agianst the Kings this past Saturday. Biyombo does have some nice upside to him with his ability to rack up some blocks and as he had a solid 25.5 FanDuel points performance (4 pts, 10 reb, 1 ast, 3 blk) agianst he Kings last Saturday, I think he has some solid value tonight.
Check back later for updates!
